Agreed. I don't use the 3D stuff yet, so the only reason to upgrade from powerdvd9 is for the default player in media center to be powerdvd for files. If it doesn't do it, no point.
Also, may I make the recommendation, that users that have upgraded the player multiple times (from 7-8-9) say, get a discount, or the whole player at the same prices as the upgrade? Its annoying having to install 7, then 9 upgrade, then 9 update. Due to these issues, (not even with the player itself) I think I will skip 10

I use media browser to look at my DVD collection. Was wondering if with powerdvd 10, if I launch a movie, I can choose to have PD10 run t by default.
ATM I am running PD9, and don't really see any point in upgrading, unless this works

Now that its working I wouldn't mess with it, but you could try turning of the hardware accelleration, and use true theater
I got pissed when I got powerdvd 8, then 3 months later they release 9. Most companies these days give you a free upgrade if it was purchesed inside 6 months. Hell even windows did it if you got a vista computer after july (provided you picked one that stated so).
I wonder how big their development team is? Its funny how Digtal media players have very few problems, but its rediculausly hard to get a HTPC to do what you want with out having to spend months on setup and forums and customer support.
And we have prolly spent 3 or more times the cash to get what we were hoping was to be perfect. Its been a sucky road. At least my setup works 95% of the time now. Biggest problems are now 64bit codecs (not related to cyberlink)

It would seem a lot of people are having issues with that particular reciever. Makes me glad I went for the Yamaha RX-V1900 instead. Though, like I said, I was getting alot of HDCP problems before getting anydvd. Would be fantastic if things were to work perfectly, but we are far from a perfect world. Just wish it didn't cost so much to get it to run well.
At least my issues are just annoyances, and when you run the title a second time, it remembers. Feel sorry for the people still having issues. Its been a frustrating ride.

Possible HDCP issues? I was having that, alot, up to 5 min it the play of the title, as the audio formats changed and HDCP stuff had to adjust. Though I would also get green screens. Was unbearable. Try AnyDVD trial and see if it solves your problem. Solved mine. Though I use HDMI from the comp, to the reciever to the TV.

The issue I have been experancing is that you can only choose the HD audio out options once a bluray has started playback of the feature. Once selected works perfectly fine. But I can't choose it from powerDVD main setting window without the title playing.
The other issue is that I often find when putting in a new bluray, I have to re enable the HD sound options again, otherwise it reverts to Powerdvd decoded PCM.
Other then that, I have not been expereancing any other issues. Even the MC plugin has seemed stable. I do run AnyDVD HD, which means I have no HDCP issues though.
Thanks guys for making the software work, at least in my situation. HD audio is awsome, and picture quality is spectacular.

Support left me a message. From my interpretation, it would seem that they will have it up and running in the next patch/update.
YAY!!!
Thanks Vincent for the news.

You know which problems it addresses?
Things that need fixing:
MC plugin stability
Green screen flashes (though this is a hdcp thing so don't know if cyberlink can fix that problem, only happens when sound formats change anyway like dd 2.0 at the menu to dts5.1 on the movie, and anydvd hd removes the problem completly, though it is quite expensive these days!)
HD tracks on HD5000 series cards.
These are my problems anyway. Also why does it take a week to release the patch, when the patch is genearlly the same size as a new install?
Not a complaint, just wondering.

Im Seeing the same problems here.
I just did the big 3 upgrades.....New yamaha RX-V1900 reciever, HD5770 graphics, and upgraded from powerdvd8 to powerdvd9 (wanted the media center plug in as well, which is very unstable but thats a different issue)
Anyway, after $2100AU I have an awsome sound system and excellent video for all my normal viewing with minimum upgrade in bluray playback, the main purpose of this upgrade!
Oh well, music can now be heard 200m away coming from my house. Guess thats worth it......
Still its not useful for review sites to say things are working, or to take it as it sounds. I really should know better, but when you want it so bad......
