Quote:I've been a PowerDVD user for many years (since v.5 or 6) but find the lack of support for this issue disturbing. I just switched to a competing product, problem solved!
I've been with PowerDVD since v. 5 came on my Dell laptop many years ago, but after issues updating to PDVD10 Mark II (exhaustive installs/uninstalls) with the runaround from Cyberlink tech support, and now it crashing every time I try to play a disc in WMC, I've also gone to a competing product. Sorry Cyberlink, too little too late.
I too have this issue. If I launch PowerDVD from within WMC, it crashes. If I launch it by double clicking on the PowerDVDCinema10 application or thePowerDVDCinema10.mcl file in the PowerDVD10\PowerDVD Cinema folder, it runs fine until I return to the WMC home screen. If I select PowerDVD again, it crashes. A fix would be nice as the whole point of investing in a HTPC is to not have to resort to clicking on shortcuts on the desktop but running all programs from the remote.
The support ID for the latest inquiry (not counting one from this morning asking for an update) is: CS000922834. So far, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, used the registry cleaners provided by technical support and uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and attempted to install patches of various build versions with no luck. Unfortunately, I do not have another computer on which to install the program, as also suggested by technical support. I'm sorry, but I don't know what "full version and SR of the original version" is, but if you can clarify that for me, I would be happy to provide it.
Hopefully someone here can help me resolve the issue I've been having with PowerDVD 10 Deluxe running on Windows 7 64-bit. My version 10.0.1516.1 fails to update to the latest version using the installers available at http://www.cyberlink.com/downloads/support/powerdvd/patches_en_US.html. I have included a jpg of the error that I received:
I have been working with Ajay in customer service for over 2 months, but he seems to be sending me in circles without any real resolution. I would really like to be able to use the latest features. If anyone here can help, I would appreciate it very much. Let me know if you need any more information from me!
