[reproduced] PowerDVD 10 Ultra Not Working with Windows 7 WMC

I'm unable to use PowerDVD 10 Ultra in Windows 7 Media Center. Clicking the CyberLink PowerDVD shortcut in Windows 7 Media Center causes the application to lock up and crash. I can only use the application when I double click the PowerDVDCinema10.exe file in the PowerDVD Cinema sub-folder in the PowerDVD folder in windows explorer. I re-installed the software several times as described in other forum postings and it has not corrected the problem (corrected problem involving the resetting of Blu-ray region code changes to 0 and the inability to play movies). I believe that one of the Windows updates last week applied to Windows Media Center/Player and might have caused this problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi,
the 2ft Ui is the standard application - not the Cinema Mode

The Cinema Mode works fine but opening Power DVD with the WMC application does not work.

I had exactly same issue within WMC, solved it by checking the box 'Allow PowerDVD to automatically disable Windows Aero' within Bluray Disc tab.
Had it unchecked & caused a lockup everytime.

Hope this works for you guy's.....

I too am having this rather odd issue :/ I just got the Powerdvd10 dvd today and installed and updated it to the latest version.

what's odd is two weeks ago I installed the trial version and this issue did not occur.

to add to my previous post... could IE9 have played any part in this issue?

I am running PowerDVD Ultra 3D Mark II
I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling and updating to the latest Patch

I agree that it may have something to do with Internet Explorer 9 as that's about the timeframe that it stopped working.

As far as plugins for Media Center, I run Media Browser and Windows Home Server

Here are the results of my DxDiag and BDAdvisor:

Hi,

I can not see such issue on my systems using IE 9 (final not Beta!)

Can you try to disable the CloneDrive and try again?

I was able to resolve my issue with Media Center but not sure what in the end "fixed" it. I have uninstalled AnyDVD and Virtual Clone Drive initially but both are reinstalled now and functioning.

I do have a problem with the latest update not allowing me to play mounted DVD iso's.

Hi RobZ,
I was able to repro your issue - please see workaround that may help:

C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD10\PowerDVD Cinema
execute :
PDVDCM10Service.exe
PowerDVDCinema10.exe
PowerDVDCinema10.mcl

after executing the above applications, the Plugin should be OK again.

I'm experiencing the same problem again. Double clicking the MCL file or the three files that you listed only temporarily solves the problem.
