If those components aren't installed on your system, it makes sense that you'd see the same error but I don't have a clue about what's going on. Any chance it's your firewall/anti-virus software that's interfering?
If that's not the answer I think the best thing to do is continue working with CL tech support, as they can log in remotely to your computer and see exactly what happens when PD tries to download/access the AI components

And just to make things even more complicated:
I tried using Motion Tracking.
It gave the exact same error.
Then, the error flashed away and it worked.
I closed the program, tried again, and it doesn't work. Just hangs on the error.
I did this a few times and it seems to be totally random. Either flashing the error or working, or hanging on the error and not working.
So now I think it isn't a permission problem, but something wrong with the program.

Also forgot to add that I can download and install other components for PD.
It just does not like the AI sky replacement.

You can take a look at some possible fixes here, or you could try making a new user account and installing PD21 there and see if it works normally. It that solves the issue, you could either use the new account from now on, or search online for how to merge user accounts.

I gave it all the permissions, still doesn't work.
I made a new user account, reinstalled PD21, gave it full permissions and it still does the same.

My best guess is I am not allowed to download the contents because it doesnt get that far. It hangs on the download.
I tried connecting to a different internet connection and it still won't allow me to connect to Cyberlink to download it.
I wish they would just give a direct link to download it.

Yes, I have PowerDirector 21 and it has the new patch.
If I am not connected the error starts saying cannot download components. If I am connected it then goes to "Cannot create file"
I have contacted support a number of times, but they are not providing any useful assitance.
I reinstalled etc. and still have the same issue.
