AI Sky Replacement not Working "Cannot Create File"

Hello



Everytime it gives the error "cannot create file"



I have a new computer, everything is upgraded and it still does not work.



Any help would be appreciated.

Did you see your computer download the necesary components the first time you tried to use one of those plugins, or did you get any kind of error message?

Hello,

You're not using the latest version of PowerDirector, which may have something to do with it. I can tell, because SKY Replacement moved to the Edit tools:

Try updating PowerDirector in CAM first and see if that helps.

I saw that too. plus the Produce button instead of the new Export one, but I didn't know if PD21 was still like that or not.

Either way, this is what the AI tools window should look like, and also how your computer should download the AI Sky Replacement components the 1st time you click on it:

That's true. If you are using PowerDirector 21 perpetual version, make sure you have the latest patch installed. There was one release on May 8:

Thanks everyone for the help.

Yes, I have PowerDirector 21 and it has the new patch.

If I am not connected the error starts saying cannot download components. If I am connected it then goes to "Cannot create file"

I have contacted support a number of times, but they are not providing any useful assitance.

I reinstalled etc. and still have the same issue.

You might try running as administrator and see if that helps, it almost appears like a create file permission error for write area.

It sounds like there might be a permissions issue with your Windows account, since the error could be saying that PD can't save or open the downloaded file.

You can take a look at some possible fixes here, or you could try making a new user account and installing PD21 there and see if it works normally. It that solves the issue, you could either use the new account from now on, or search online for how to merge user accounts.

My best guess is I am not allowed to download the contents because it doesnt get that far. It hangs on the download.

I tried connecting to a different internet connection and it still won't allow me to connect to Cyberlink to download it.

I wish they would just give a direct link to download it.

I gave it all the permissions, still doesn't work.

I made a new user account, reinstalled PD21, gave it full permissions and it still does the same.

Also forgot to add that I can download and install other components for PD.

It just does not like the AI sky replacement.

And just to make things even more complicated:


I tried using Motion Tracking.



It gave the exact same error.



Then, the error flashed away and it worked.


I closed the program, tried again, and it doesn't work. Just hangs on the error.


I did this a few times and it seems to be totally random. Either flashing the error or working, or hanging on the error and not working.


So now I think it isn't a permission problem, but something wrong with the program.

If those components aren't installed on your system, it makes sense that you'd see the same error but I don't have a clue about what's going on. Any chance it's your firewall/anti-virus software that's interfering?

If that's not the answer I think the best thing to do is continue working with CL tech support, as they can log in remotely to your computer and see exactly what happens when PD tries to download/access the AI components

Its weird that it works sometimes with the AI motion tracker.

I will disable the firewall and antivirus to see if it makes a difference.

CL tech support is not responding which is concerning.

Do the AI Fix/Enhance: Audio wind removal and Speech enhancement also have the same issue? What CPU do you have?
