Great link, Thanks, Amanda. Yep, without a doubt truetheater.

Thanks everyone. I'll keep it disabled.
Seems the problem is that TrueTheater being enabled causes it. That's too bad because our blu-ray movies look better with TrueTheater. Is there any other way around this? I don't know enough about TrueTheater mode to know what it is doing to the movie.

I think all of our DVDs show this, including Cowboys and Aliens, Tropic Thunder, Criminal Minds, 50 First Dates, etc.

All of our blu-ray movies look great.

Thanks for the response.
Hi. Most of our DVDs' quality looks like it was filmed with a camcorder using PowerDVD 11, while they look good using Media Player. I hope you understand what I mean from that description.

Does anyone know why this is occuring and what we can do to fix it?
OK, must be blind, but how do I randomize a video playlist on PowerDVD10?
OK, so let's try this again, maybe someone from Cyberlink can help me or at least get a real idea of the problem to resolve it in the next patch.

Specs:
Dual-Proc Xeon 3.066,
3.25GB RAM (really 4GB, but I digress...),
Windows XP SP3,
SATA external drives containing media files and backups of my BDs,
External LiteOn BD connected via USB
Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT 512MB PCI, driver 191.07
Virtual CloneDrive 5.4.3.5 (was not on beta when this started, tried that to resolve the problem)
PowerDVD 9 Ultra build 9.0.2115
PowerDVD 8 Ultra 8.0.3017b.50
Striker 7.1 Sound Card

I have both PowerDVD 8 Ultra and PowerDVD 9 Ultra installed on the same system.

After applying the latest PowerDVD 9 Ultra patch I have been experiencing a problem intermittently using both versions of PowerDVD 8 & 9. A BD playback from hard drive will freeze while the movie clock will continue. No sound as well.

Where this happens, it always happens, and it occurs in both PowerDVD9 and PowerDVD8 since the patch.

Let's add another wrench... it only happens when playing from the beginning of the disc. If I start the movie just before the location where it freezes, then it doesn't freeze. (I cannot say this is an absolute, I have not done significant testing on starting just before the freeze, only a couple times)

For example, the Otis BD, at approximately 20 minutes into the movie it freezes, the same place every time. Video frozen, no sound, clock continues to tick, but if I try to click on the movie to skip ahead PowerDVD is frozen. I have to kill the process.

Occurs on Spiderman 3.

Occurs on Transformers.

Not-So-Funny thing is it didn't happen at all on these movies before the patch. I can watch the movies with TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum without the problem, but that player sucks in comparison to PowerDVD.

And... the kicker, I cannot go to a previous version. When I uninstall the patch to revert back, the problem still exists. So whatever file was overwritten that is causing the problem is still a problem after the uninstall.

I don't want to use TMT3. Please fix PowerDVD.
Since a recent update (I am current) during BD playback PowerDVD freezes the image while the time continues as if it is playing. This happens only on BD playback.

I am using PowerDVD 9 Ultra.

Anyone else suddenly have the player freeze while watching BDs?
You're correct, I didn't have this problem with the previous build revision. I have Striker 7.1 surround via SDF.

I guess I can downgrade. I think for the most part the latest revisions have improved the quality. Too bad about the sound thing. I have to use another player for BD at the moment.
PowerDVD 9 Ultra.

When playing Blu-Ray movies (I play them via .iso files), there is a momentary loss of audio at regular intervals when I play all Blu-Ray movies. I don't have this problem on PowerDVD 8 Ultra.

Plays beautifully, loses audio for a second or two while continuing to play. This continues to happen throughout the playback.
Hi. Title doesn't seem to matter. I've tried The Dark Knight, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Casino Royale.

Graphics card is the 512MB GeForce 7600 GT with the latest graphic version 182.08 downloaded a few days ago. (Yes, I've watched BD since then.) The system itself is a dual-proc 3.066 Xeon processors with 4GB RAM. The TV is a Mitsibushi WD-57735. Running XP Pro.

It was working fine on PwerDVD Ultra 8, and it works fine on all previews.

Thanks for the help.
I have PowerDVD 9 Ultra. I have confirmed the software activation is correct, it says "Ultra." It plays DVDs just fine, it plays High Def (BD) previews, but when it comes to the movies it just plays a blank screen. The time continues to tick as if it is playing, I think the player thinks it is playing, but there is nothing on the screen. Just blank.

Anyone know what I did wrong?

Thanks for any replies.

I meant to include that everything works with version 8 Ultra. BD movies play without any problems on that version. This problem is specific to version 9.
