I had no problem making iphone videos with pd8 but had no luck getting anything to play properly on Android. I bought/downloaded Cyberlink's Media Espresso and when I choose to convert my wmv's to the Google platform, they work not only on Google's Android but also work on Iphones.

Thanks everybody. I never noticed those buttons on the bottom of that dialog box...they sort of look like they belong to the main interface and not to a separate dialog (is my excuse). Oh and thanks for that traveling blur video. I'm gonna try that too.

I want to apply an effect such as blur to an entire clip and I want the blur to be the same throughout the clip. Whether I insert it in the video timeline or in the effects timeline it starts out un blurred and gets extremely blurry in the middle and then de blurs completely at the end. It would seem like this would be a somewhat obscure option and not the default as it is for me. Right clicking and choosing 'Edit' does not lead me to a solution.

I did get a suggestion to "edit it in the key effects" which seems to mean I'd need to add a PIP timeline that somehow overrides the main video line? I tried it anyway and couldn't make it work either.

Thanks in advance for any help
I have the same problem. got wave editor open once, got no message but now can't open it at all. I can right click and say "new project" and a task bar will run but the app will NOT open. I don't seem to have any Maximize options?
I've imported 600 VOB's and have always been able to tweak the video sound slider.

Now all my VOB's come in with the slider stuck on zero sound instead of somewhere in the middle of the sound range. I can import and adjust sound OK on the other 2 tracks.

I've had various sound sliders stick before but have always been able to dislodge them by opening/closing the mixer or clicking around on the timeline.

You can see a normal sound graph running across the video track but you can't hear it when played and you can't adjust it off from zero in the mixer. The VOB's play sound OK when launched separately.

Thanks In Advance
I guess tech support is too busy and now I'm finding that PD5 has the same disasterous crash that pd3 had. Even if you just saved the file, the crash destroys all of your previous work.

Why would anyone upgrade from 3 to 5 when it's slower and has file corrupting crashes which can't be recovered? And what's up with these goofy magic wand controls? Is this product for pre schoolers who like the pretty colors when you crash??
I take VOB's from DVD's of home movies as input and render them as
Windows Media WMV

The drop down Streaming Video choice is Windows Media Video 9 for local network 768 kpbs.

This rendering used to take about 5 min's for a 10 min video and now it takes 12min's. I do not choose the "Scan source video clips..." box.

When I bring in the this much smaller 768 version as input it used to be a bit faster then bringing in VOB's but not a lot faster. It took about 4 min's for a 10 min video.

I've done about 50 of these videos on pd 3 and only upgraded because I occasionally crashed on really huge files with lots of text. I did several pd 3's last week on this identical computer with no other differences than upgrading to pd5. Oh and I did install the patch for pd5.

Thanks in Advance: B
Hi :

I just upgraded from PD 3 (which crashed a lot) to PD 5 (which hasn't crashed in my first few hours).

The problem is that PD 5 renders streaming videos at less than half the speed of PD 3.

Same computer, same streaming video size (76, and no other differences.

An 8 minute video used to render in about 4 minutes and now it takes 12.

Thanks In Advance:

Babs
