Disable anti-virus while you install the update.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you.

My word. It's been a long time since I had to do that to get an install to work. The install worked fine with Norton 2009 disabled. The player had a bit of a wobble the first time I put The Dark Knight in - it just exited. I fired it up again and hit play and it seems to be working beautifully.

Thanks again for the help. And also thanks.
2 Days and no response on the forum or from my support request to CL? Can anyone help with this please?

This is all turning into far more trouble than its worth for a slightly sharper picture
Hi there, I bought an LG combo drive over the summer and I've been playing HD-DVDs with the included PDVD 7 OEM fine since.

Yesterday I got my first Blu-Ray (The Dark Knight) and PDVD said it needed to update to play it. After the update (which seemed to have a problem moving some file) the software no longer works properly. Every time I start it up I get a warning that my trial has expired and asking me to enter a CD key - which I don't have as the LG OEM software isn't provided with one.

I also tried uninstalling, reinstalling and downloading the update manually and got the same problem.

Can anyone help? I'm at my wits end trying to work out how to get this resolved.

*EDIT* - In case it helps, the error I get when applying the update is when the installer tries to install the file 264dmmx.dll. A 'ComponentMoveData Error Information' dialog box appears with the following text:

ComponentMoveData had the following error;

Component: HD Component
File Group: HD File Group
File: C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDVD\VideoFilter\264dmmx.dll
Error Number -2147024891

I'm running WinXP Home 32 bit, SP3.
