Can I load, edit and burn to dvd projects previously created in PowerDirector Ultra 7? Will upgrade if this is possible.
Windows 10 OS.
I am at a loss how to burn a Ultra 7 project - repeatedly get an error code: a000000a - which I have no idea what it means. Had no problem burning two other projects. Don't know how to get an answer - these forums are hard to navigate.
Thank you.

Dafydd - thanks for your post - here's my response:
1) Power Director Version 7 Ultra – and update patches 2227-c,
2429-a, 3017
2) Camcorder: Sony Handycam HDD DCR-SR47 NTSC
3) Computer Specs:
Intel G965 MAX 8 GB DDR2 1066 Mhz Motherboard
Intel XD E6300 1.86 GB Dual Core Processor 4 MB 1066
4 GB DDR2 533 Mhz Memory PC 4200
Samsung HD 103SJ (1 TB) (SATA Interface)
Attached is original film from Sony Handycam.
I tried also to attach the film clip showing the audio lag, but when I eliminated all the surrounding edited clips, transitions, music, etc. the clip was once again in sync, so the problem must be a result of editing.
I am now at the point of splitting the project into mini files and producing them and will add them all together at the end.
I would still like to know if I upgrade to V9, will it recognize my PD7 projects or do I have to start all over again?
Thank you very much.

Kevin,
I used the same clips in a new project (no effects or transitions), produced a mpg2 file and everything plays in synch.
You make total sense as far as playback during the editing process when the video can't keep up with the audio. When I split the audio from the video and then play the "movie" the audio and visual line up exactly. However, why would it transfer over into the finished rendered project? All I can think of is that the transitions affect it. In this particular project the only transitions I've used are "fade."
Thanks again,
Mary

Thanks Kevin - I split the very first video clip on the timeline as directed.
I'm using a Sony Handycam DCR - Digital Video Camcorder.
Attached is a print of my PD7 project screen.

Kevin, I tried splitting the first clip and then separating the audio from the video on the second clip. Didn't make any difference. I'm still battling the same problem. Has there been a fix to this problem in later editions of PD? If I upgraded, would the latest version recognize my current project created in PD7? Just don't know what to do at this point.
Thanks, Mary

OK - I know there have been many posts about this topic, but I am totally frustrated.
Sorry - I have just completed a project 1 hr & 55 min long with transitions, music, titles, etc.
Initially, the audio was in sync before I burned, but now toward the end of my editing process, it's not.
Because I have experienced audio out of sync in the past, I always make sure to (1) defragment my hard drive,
(2) set my PDR.exe affinity to only one processor, (3) turn off my internet access and then burn. The audio out of sync is right from the get go and puts me in a blue funk!
System Info: Intel G965 MAX 8 GB DDR2 1066 Mhz Motherboard
Intel XD E6300 1.86 GB Dual Core Processor 4 MB 1066
4 GB DDR2 533 Mhz Memory PC 4200
Samsung HD 103SJ 1 TB (SATA Interface)
I have 699 gb free hard drive space.
Has Cyberlink been able to come up with a solution for this??? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Thanks Kevin - you helped me so much and I apologize for not figuring it out myself!

One more question: how do I get the snapshot.bmp/jpg out of the power director project with the .pds ext? I'm having trouble exporting just the snapshot.

thanks to you both -

is it possible to take a "snapshot" within a video project and convert the ext to jpeg therefore allowing it to be used in a WORD project?
Thank you.

Thank you both for your help. I do have transitions and used Magic Fix in the project also. I didn't notice the stutter once it was produced, so I believe it was (as you say) apparent only in the preview mode.
I've had such a time with this project I apologize for
prematurely anticipating a problem with the final product.

I'm getting a slight pause in the video clip just before a PIP fades into the project. Any suggestions on how to smooth this out?
Thanks.

When putting the disc in the player or pc, it simply doesn't play. When I check it on my computer, it shows no content. The disc drive is working properly and plays other dvds, and I can burn other programs on PD successfully, so I think the project is corrupt. Thanks for your response.

I'm experiencing no disc content after burning PD 7 - (even tho I see the burn marks on the dvd and PD said burning was successful). I have uninstalled and reinstalled and can't figure this one out. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Is it possible to import additional color boards to the 30 that are already provided in PD V.7 ?
Thanks.

I am experiencing a slight "flicker" in my final output to DVD. Seems to occur around transitions. I have disabled all programs running in the background and defragmented before I create disc. Any suggestions?

Never mind - I figured out I had to change edit preferences to detect scenes and reload the dvd with the original media. Video is now in my library and works just fine now. Thanks anyway!

I'm trying to import an mpg file from my hard drive. Message was that it needed to detect scenes and provide RichVideo information. Scenes were detected and I see them in the preview window, but can't seem to figure out how to import them into my project. Thanks for any help.
