Hi all. Captured 8mm via PD 6.5. Can play back ok via the PD software but when i go to view it on windows media player it flickers badly. It is called a movie clip not *.mpeg Set preferences to pal (Australia), rich video option checked. Ultimately want to burn to dvd and playback on plasma telly. Can anyone please tell me where Ive gone wrong??? Great family vids if i can get the thing working...

You're not confusing the actual 8mm flickering display associated with film when transposed into video format as a problem are you?

In PD7 there are a number of Magic tools that might eleviate the issue but not fully resolve it.

Ideally you should capture on a frame by frame basis as the archive places do.

No Im uploading from 8mm video cassette from sony handicam (not the old 8mm type) but the visual flickering effect is like that. When i have PD 6.5 open and view the mpeg file on windows media it does not flicker. When i close the PD and view it on windows media ot flickers. Why? How can i correct? Window media plays back other avi files just fine so the windows media work fine.

I am experiencing a slight "flicker" in my final output to DVD. Seems to occur around transitions. I have disabled all programs running in the background and defragmented before I create disc. Any suggestions?
