Quote G'day Count Zero -

There probably are ways to create that negative look in PDR. I took the easy way out: sent a clip to ColorDirector & inverted the RGB curve.

I made it a preset, so you can download it & use it in PDR. Just go to Fix/Enhance > Color Presets & download it.

About masks: you can make a mask from any image you want & import it into Mask Designer.

Cheers - Tony

THANK YOU!

Looks like I will have to break down and fork out the $$ for color director as I found it will motion mask as well. As for now I will dl your preset and custome mask in key frames. thanks again for the dl link. I will check it out as soon as I get in front of my rig.
2 questions please.

  1. Is there any way to create a black and white negative effect in powerdirector? Like all white space is black and black space is white?

2. Is there a plug in or another way to custome mask out areas in a chromakey? I know you can select various shape like squares etc. but i need to be able to key out stands for miniture model props, not just putting an oval over the entire thing. I believe the term is garbage mat.

Thank you!

Thank you! I thought there must have been a built in way to do it. This is perfect laughing
Please help,

I would like to make an entire scene red as though I filmed it with a red gel filter over my lense, without buying an extra plugin. I have googled this to death with no luck. Use of a LUT seems to may be the answer, not sure. Any advice?

Thank you.
I managed to resolve this issue. So for any one with this problem do what I did. Upgrade your video card.

I do not see an obvious way to mark this issue as resolved, but it is laughing
Just noticed a private email reply from Hatti regarding this and I will try these tips. It was a reply from my original post a while back, I never saw the reply.

Thanks Hatti! Any more info would help if any one else has any. It may very well be my video card but we will see.
I have posted regarding this in the past and it still remains unresolved. I am reposting because I have done so much since then with no fix in site.

This is the issue:

I use hand break to change my phone recorded video converting it to 60FPS 1080p at 12000 kbps.

I import this file into power director. I set the presetting to 60fps in PD.

In the media library it plays fine (I have will include the video specs below along with my hardware sepcs).

When I drag it to the time line and play it the image stutters and chops like a maxheadroom effect. It is a kind of sputtering motion, not a lag per se.
This happens with or without the handbreak conversion, and with different video sources, tried phone, tab and PC webcam. I have also tried tweaking all kinds of aspect ratios, bitrates and fps with same bad results.

I have googled this to death and I cannot seem to resolve this.

Please help!

Quote Hello and thank you for any assistance in advance.

I have now tried to encode it with handbreak and the issue persists. I aqdmit I am not a genius when it comes to the more complicate aspect of film so I may just have not done it correctly.

I get a bad clipping issue when I import it into power director 16 only. Looks great on all other media players.

There is a link below that shows what I mean by max headroom syndrome. I also dropped my dx diag info and the properties of the clip.

Please help!
Thank you

Hello and thank you for any assistance in advance.

My issue that I cannot figure out:

I film a clip on my Samsung tab 8. It looks great.
I transfer the video to my pc and it looks great in Windows media player, no issues at all.
I import it into director 16 using the first video option and then the clip is suddenly showing up with sevear clipping.
It looks like I was matrix glitching in the video like max headroom.
It was cool for the video I was making but I need it to stop. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
Done it now with all clips I have filmed. I thought it may work itself out in the rendering but it does not.

The preinstalled movie of the guy on that surf board or what ever it was, works fine.

Please help!!!
