Have gone from PD8-PD12 (not PD11) and have never had so much problem as having with PD12.
CL support after I described all my problems have said download all new files and do a reinstall.
I have already got all these files but can see their reasoning. I had PD12 at latest Beta patch v2613.
At present have spent all day downloading files as per attached .jpg. Exe file no problem just over an hour.
But the content pack a total different story. 7hrs for first one including a fail at approx 2hrs and now am
at 2hrs left on the second pack also which failed half way through!! What has happened to picking up
downloads where it stopped and continue with download?
I have an ADSL 2 BB conection and downloads from CL have been anywhere from 40 KB/s to 175 KB/s.
Am beginning to think that video editing S/W is not only complicated but can be problematic. I believe CL
can do better. My problems with PD12 rendering did not happen in PD10 so am quite frustrated with it.
Enough said but will send this to CL support also.

Gidday Phil,
Actually I updated to 2509 beta at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/31687.page and things did get a little better. I typed 2409 by mistake.
My title is usually just a short 10-15sec clip with a title and sound clip and fade in and out. Yes I can say have just followed my nose and used format I thought best and it has worked with PD 10 and only 4Gb of RAM. Now have 8Gb and is slower.
Closed PD 12 and started PD 10 and just quickly dropped only files onto my timeline and straight to create disc. It produced to a folder in less than an hour (1hr 15mins video) and played with Power DVD with no problem at all. Actually when having this problem earlier I did produce them to H.264 AVC to try to fix problem was having. They still show in media files as .mts but also show H.264 AVC. They burned to a folder OK so should be correct. At moment have changed to H.264 encoding format @ 720 x 526 50i and see how that goes. After almost 40mins it has reached 20%.
Will have a try of the Phantom Drive S/W and see how it goes.
Basically I have used a system for me that has worked and now it doesn't?
Thanks much for your help Phil and trust your not spending to much time on the snow machine.
Regards,
Peter
Am using Ashampoo Burning S/W

Have updated to PD 12 early December and have yet to produce a video. Over Christmas have not really had time to deal with this.
Yesterday updated to 2409 and was able to produce a video to a folder and then burned to disc... but will only start from player on computer and not from a DVD player? Will not auto start.
My normal procedure is to upload my mts files from Canon Legria to PD timeline, edit out, etc. whatever needs doing, add a 10-20sec title w/music and same with ending. Go to create disc, burn to 2D and a folder. Works a charm in PD 10 but not PD 12.
1. First issue was would not go past 6% rendering, tried not burning and just to folder and same thing.
2. Up to Christmas a few more tries and a few more coasters to hang in the fruit trees to keep the birds away.
3. To backup a bit when I first installed PD 12 it was very suspect as seemed slow, editing view was not clear and not responsive. I felt a bit disappointed but after installing update 2409 that all became a bit better but still slower than PD 10.
4. Which brings me to the present. Today tried to burn folder and DVD and stuck at 6%... another bird scarer for the tree.
5. Most videos I do are minimum 1hr 15 to 1hr 45mins long. Smart fit in PD 10 would bring size down to 4370mb and now in PD 12 it comes down to 4699mb. Current video am doing is 4711mb. Nothing too amazing in any of this unless adding subtitles is a problem.
6. Have started PD 10 and loaded same file with out editing and within 1min up to 10% in creating folder. Smart Fit comes down to 4271mb. Now at 25% at 7mins and seems normal as when doing edited video will take 1-1 1/2hrs max. 2 to complete.
Have noted a few others are having other problems with PD 12 and that updates from CL are coming at a rate of knots, so trust this all will work out soon. And am definitely not the brightest spark on the block when it comes to editing etc. Can only say was not having this problem in PD 10.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

Am noting the thread re beta update is to do with 2412. This has now been updated to 2420. My question is can I now safely update my Nvidia driver 331.58 to 331.82 which Nvidia keeps asking me to do.
On previous CL 12, beta upon updating all have had to revert back to 331.58. Would just like a clear answer on this please.
Thanks for your help and congratulations on another year of looking after the flock.
A joyful, peaceful Christmas to all and yours and in the New Year.

Thanks for that. I usually do minimal amount of editing and amounts just deleting bits of clips with coughs, hiccups or whatever and then just create strait to DVD and a folder.
Do add a short 10-15sec intro and ending with title, sound track (edit sound levels, clip etc.).
The file in screenshot once l left the clip in original length produce to DVD and folder just fine.
Have started another so will see how it goes. Have burned folders only and then burned that to DVD.
CPD12 was concerned my system would not manage it, but seems OK. 64 bit with 4gb ram might be bit of a stretch. Can say have done close to 100 hour fifteen to hour and three quarter videos using CPD10 and hardly any issues other than me. Actually always me.
ie. coasters: things you ride on at Luna park? In your case Knotts Berry Farm?

Have recently moved up to CPD12 and using Beta 2412. All is OK with Nvidia GT640 GC but have a strange issue with some frame clips re media source. If have edited or clipped some frames sometimes get message as per pic attached.
Result of trying to create to direct disc is will produce some 20-25% and stop.
If I go back to edit and leave the clip intact have no problem. Seems to be maybe only certain clips?
My usual is to take .mts files straight through to DVD/YouTube and using CPD10 up til now. So not sure if beta issue or what it is.
Remember a Newbie this Christmas.

Thanks for that Carl, in PD12 it says Extract Audio, DUH.. pretty obvious if one looks.
And did find some DL DVD's at 75cents each which is getting close to a dollar in your money. But they are coming down.
re Nvidia graphics card am using earlier driver 331.58 at runs fine. And of course still get prompted to update at Nvidia to 331.82 and even windows updates suggests the same update which does not work.
Just caught up with the thread updating Beta's on this problem and installing latest as I type. It's going to be a great Christmas and hope this all works out.
Have a wonderful Christmas to all those on forum and the rest who help us poor Newbies out.
God Bless us all

With Wave Editor to use as stand alone and edit video sound files one would have to separate Video/Sound in CPD and then save the sound file. Problem is they can only be saved as project files? So how to get a video sound track into Wave Editor as stand alone file?
The close program am quite used to but does always seem a bit odd.
re export/import in preferences have 1TB drive as primary and set this as for both. And say 'O' drive is where I store files and save project to. Will do as your saying.
re Smart Fit, have been using for all my video's and never a problem. May because these are static narration videos and very little movement. Maybe? Most are 1hr 15mins to 1hr 40mins and not over two hrs.
This is uploading .mts direct from camera to CPD, edited and direct to create disc.
Happily even after glitch last night and second attempt writing DVD set to shut down when finished. Up this morning and with great trepidation turned on Comp and folder DVD both successful.
Problem with dual layer DVD's, there too expensive!
Caught a pic on Fox cable of someone skating on the streets somewhere in Texas, did not say where.
Thanks so much

Of two issues above noted that saving .pds now goes to correct directory. But Wave Editor is same and must close to save.
After starting first DVD with PD12 it crashed before writing to DVD and sent both dump and crash report to Cyberlink.
Not a good start and does not really seem much faster than PD10.
Also when using SmartFit it takes it right up to 4.699GB while PD10 would only use to 4.370 or thereabouts.
It is showing about 3hrs to produce DVD and Folder which is about what PD10 takes for 1 1/2hr video.

OK, have bitten the proverbial bullet and have PD12 running and looks good.
You may have an answer for this one. When saving a project file it will always go to the PD root directory and you have to clik back to where you are storing ones files. How can you point it to a directory you want it to be at.
And also when editing an audio file in Wave Editor how can you save that edited file to a directory as an .wma file or?
My usual practice is open edit audio, edit the file then close Wave Editor and when it asks to save say yes.
Think am missing something here as most of menu is greyed out?
Actually know someone in Texarkana who I think must have an oil well in his backyard. Half your luck as we say.
Thanks again

Just to add the drv ver that does not work for 640 is dated 19/11/2013 and ver. 331.82
|

Yes, thanks for that Carl. There are ten drivers available for the 600 series Nvidia. Tried couple of bit earlier ones and did not work but last or earliest does work but shows blank white screen in Trim and Multi Trim?
I note that this link driver fix is for a Nvidia 400 series and do not think can back up a Nvidia 600 series to 400 series driver?
Have thought of upgrade to 11/12 but concerned have not enough RAM. Maybe the Nvidia 640 will give a bit of a boost to do this. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks Carl

Recently my Gigabyte 450GTS died and have replaced with GT640. Now my video takes so long to render Cyberlink is unusable.
With old card was working fine. Am not positive this is reason but trust that someone may have an answer.
Thank you

Interesting and can be confusing all these different formats.
I note in YT video manager under edit that it shows the uploaded raw data as .flv files. I have converted MTS to .flv some time ago and seem to recall same amount of time to upload. And resolution was OK.
I convert my MTS files to MPEG2 and then load to PD thinking that may make the rendering faster. Will try the same with MTS convert to WMV.
What is also confusing is that under each video profile format there are a half dozen or more sub profiles that one must sort out. Hmmm!!! Cheers for now.

Just up, late night setup to YouTube and to DVD. All done.
Yes see what your saying, this of course produces one WMV file to whatever folder you want to point it. MPEG2 would be the same or close to HD WMV.
My novice comment overall is I find it bit strange we have all these you beaut HD formats, MTS @3200 and now even higher resolutions coming to the fore but all appear difficult to use in actual practice. In other words we downsize to be able to use them. My 2bits worth this morning. Thanks again.

Yes, thanks for that Carl. I think your saying to render WMV using an outside source like Moviemaker or similar? But would like to use the editing effects and tools in PD.
If created in PD files are always saved as .pds files which cannot load to YouTube apparently.
Converting to MPEG2 gets a pretty could result but will look at HD WMV profiles as you say. And that in PD.
With mts I usually have up to 15 files which convert to MPEG2, I use OJsoft, and then upload to YouTube and use there online editor. and same files then run in PD and build my DVD's.
When needed build short 10-15sec clips in PD and usually can get them loaded to YouTube.
All takes time.
Thanks again Carl, your the real 'Brick" in this forum.

Trying to load short 15sec clips and refuses to upload. Starts but does not finish. I convert my mts files to MPEG2 and upload to CBD10, add titles, some transitions and few changes to audio. That's it and about 15sec long. Produced to YouTube at highest definition does not work, std HD not work, not saved as a project file does not work and same for saved as a project file. Turned off Preview while rendering. Am baffled why a small file does not load.
Should I not tick allow Cyberlink to manage YouTube account? Well just answered that one as will not work without allowing Cyberlink to manage YouTube account.
YouTube editor works quite well but limited in editing so next is MS Moviemaker then CBD10 which of course want to use.
Wanted to load as private file to YouTube as will add title clip to my other clips. At moment trying loading to public which is recommended. Has reached 50% and still going so may be a goer this time. Now 15mins and 90%... will it do it? Ah sweet success. Not sure what it was but had changed back to full HD and used public recommended setting.
Quite a few of our videos are over an hour to hour and half long and would like to fully edit them in CBD10 and upload direct to YouTube. Have activated permissions to load over 15mins but not had much success in uploading fully edited files.
Have no problems fully editing to DVD and works very well, just Cyberlink to YouTube is a problem.
Have attached dxdiag.
Thanks for your help.

I note in Power2G0 Label Print there is one direct to disk template for an Epson printer but is there one for a Canon MG5350 Inkjet?
Is there some way I can use Label Print 2.5 to do this.
Thanks and much appreciated.

Hello to all,
Am having some trouble loading to YouTube.
Have a reinstalled system with SSD for OS and new install of PD9 64bit.
A 1hr HD file worked fine to DVD but not to YouTube?
On a side note last time I used PD9 to load it accessed more than 15 min files no problem, this time had to change values in registry for PD9 to recognize longer file.
Second attempt lowered the resolution to 640x360HQ and still did not work.
Am using same file, not PDS, but are the titles the problem.
Original file is .mov and to YouTube .wmv
Both take quite some time to load, they produce and load almost complete and then stop.
Thank you for any help. Hope to receive a Canon Legria HFS10 HD CMOS Video Camera soon and that should make things a little better or maybe make just better mistakes.
Peter
Brica camera am using is OK but when loading in PD9 I get message that it is in NTFS format and not PAL. Even though I have the camera set on PAL?
