I've been trying the trial version of PD9 (32 bit) and am having a few problems.
Editing is much slicker than my other editing software, and video from my iPhone edits beautifully. Video on the iPhone is however progressive.
By contrast interlaced video from my Panasonic HDC-HS9 camcorder appears to edit O.K. but the finished product appears to randomly have the interlace reversed. This of course results in jerky motion and a double image on fast moving subjects.
So far I have edited three short sections of video, one of which had the interlace correct and the other two have it reversed. I understand from other postings here that with H.264 compressed video the whole edit is rendered and that smart rendering does not function. I assume that the problem occurs during the render process.
I originally had a similar problem with the Corel software, but unlike with Corel cannot find anywhere to correct the interlace.
Any suggestions welcome.

I'm currently trying the trial version of PD9 (32 bit) and I'm having a couple of problems.
If I create an AVCHD disc with a menu, the disc plays O.K. on my computer but will not play on my Samsung Blu-ray player. The player simply displays a blank screen, plays a short section of the background audio and then stops, and you cannot therefore select a video from the menu.
If I make a disc without a menu the disc plays, although not without a problem (which I will put in another message).
AVCHDs made with other software play without any problems.
