Quote All right, now that I do have a new graphics card that actually supports non-decoded high-definition audio through HDMI, I have noticed another problem, which might be a bug or if it is a feature, it is a bit annoying one.

So, PowerDVD 16 Ultra actually remembers the Audio settings, BUT it does not seem to actually use them after you restart the software, not until you re-select that setting again.

Here's an example: I started PowerDVD, and noticed from sound settings that "non-decoded high-definition audio" was still selected BUT when I seleced Dolby Atmos track from blu-ray menu, and started watching, I noticed that PowerDVD was outputting 2-channel LPCM. My AV-receiver agreed with PowerDVD's info screen, so it was getting stereo track only. So, I switched HDMI Audio setting in PowerDVD away from that third option "high-definition.." and selected "non decoded Dolby Digital/DTS" instead, and noticed that now PowerDVD was outputting multi-channel audio, and when I then selected that "non-decoded high-definition audio" again, now that worked correctly as well, as my receiver noticed Dolby Atmos correctly.

Now it seems that I need to do that every time, so PowerDVD does not seem to actually apply that audio setting if I close PowerDVD between watching sessions, but I need to select something else on audio settings first, and then re-select that third option and after that it works correctly as long as I keep watching that blu-ray.

I wonder if there was some way for PowerDVD to actually apply that HDMI audio setting automatically when it starts playing new blu-ray disc without me having to re-select that setting every time?

I have the exact same problem very annoying to have to always select non decoded high definition at the start of a movie all the time (though I must say the audio is sublime when functioning as it should puts my pioneer BDP-450 to shame)

I have to go through all 3 settings to get it in non decoded high definition audio .
