Open an administrator command prompt.
Run the following:
sxstrace trace -logfile:c:\sxstrace.etl
Let it run all day or over night. The program doesn't end by itself. Press enter to stop it.
The run:
sxstrace parse -logfile:c:\sxstrace.etl -outfile:c:\sxstrace.txt
You can view the logfile, if want to, for errors.
I had to run it a couple of times, but it stopped the errors.

I found a fix for powerdvd without having to uninstall KB4013429. The problem, for me, was a file called CompPkgSup.dll, Version 10.0.14393.953. This is what I did:
This is for Windows 10, 64 bit
1-I downloaded a Version 12.0.10586.0 from https://www.dll-files.com/comppkgsup.dll.html (64bit)
2-Extracted the file to a temp folder.
3-Go to c:\windows\system32; rename CompPkgSup.dll to something like CompPkgSup.dll.xxx; you will have to take ownership of the file before you can rename it.
4-Do the same thing in C:\Windows\SysWOW64
5-Copy the Version 12.0.10586.0 of CompPkgSup.dll from the temp folder to c:\windows\system32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64
Everything is now working as before.

sorry it didn't work for you. It does work but the sequence is critical. After removing the bad guy, and reboot, immediately do the gpedit change. try the hide activity again before selecting update or you may get it downloaded again in which case it will install.
You need to do the group policy edit first. If you do the uninstall first, the uninstall requires a restart and it just starts downloading the update. So i changed the update group policy to notify download/install. Uninstalled the update. Uninstall does a restart. Ran the wushowhide.diagcab. Hid the update. Then did a restart. The update was still showing up. At this point I give up. I will do without powerdvd. I wasted enough time on this crap. It's time Microsoft fix this problem and now.

I tried the gpedit.msc and wushowhide.diagcab and it doesn't work. KB4013429 still shows up. I'm giving up on PowerDVD since I can't use it for what I want it for and will look for alternative software. Maybe Microsoft or Cyberlink will fix the problem. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

The problem now is that Windows keeps trying to install that update. I need to find a way to prevent that update from being installed or wait for Microsoft to fix that problem.

It turns out that KB4013429 is the problem update. I uninstalled it, uninstalled PowerDVD, reintstalled PowerDVD and now it works fine. The problem I have now is how do I stop Windows from installing this update? There used to be a way of downloading updates and choosing which ones to install. You have no control over updates in Windows 10.

Yesterday, my computer was updated with the monthly, March Windows 10 updates. Ever since this update, my event log is being flooded with hundreds of the following errors:

I tried uninstalling powerdvd and then reinstalling it. These errors still persist. As long as these two services are running, hundreds of errors are generated. I've had to disable these two services. With these services disabled, I can no longer cast to my smart TV.
