Wow this is really frustrating.

I put an mp3 clip into the timeline, removed the begining which was breathing and shifting papers around, and proceeded to split and edit the files in places.

When I try to edit an individual clip (I am attempting to add fades the end of each clip to avoid the abrupt sound at the end), the entire file (Starting from the beginning, including the section I removed) is the one that is there!!!!!

Why can I not edit the one clip?

And why are there no tutorials online? This is ridiculous. Can anyone help me? I am losing my mind.
