How to edit individual clips???

Wow this is really frustrating.

I put an mp3 clip into the timeline, removed the begining which was breathing and shifting papers around, and proceeded to split and edit the files in places.

When I try to edit an individual clip (I am attempting to add fades the end of each clip to avoid the abrupt sound at the end), the entire file (Starting from the beginning, including the section I removed) is the one that is there!!!!!

Why can I not edit the one clip?

And why are there no tutorials online? This is ridiculous. Can anyone help me? I am losing my mind.

Hello Adelle,

Welcome to the AudioDirector forum laughing

Sorry to read you're having some frustrations with editing your audio clips. Do I understand correctly that you're trying to remove unwanted sections then fade the preserved secions in/out? It sounds like you have made some good steps anyway.

If you're working in the Mix module, here are some more steps to take to achieve your goal:

  1. Split the clip to remove unwanted sections of audio (done)

  2. By dragging each clip to slightly overlap, you'll get the option to crossfade (shown in the screen capture)

  3. Another method is to click on the speaker icon to adjust audio levels. This allows keyframes to be set to fade in/out (also shown in the capture)

  4. By moving each split clip to a new track, they can be overlapped to achieve a smooth fade.

The screen capture is just that - not a tutorial as such.

If anything is still unclear, please don't hesitate to ask. I and other members will be happy to assist.
