I use last years Lenovo Y 40-80. Works pretty good. Use caution with laptops that use crossfire technology where it bounces between Intel and dedicated graphics. Windows 10 more specifically. Seems AMD which is what I have hasnt done a very good job updating their CCC drivers. I spent a good day trying to figure out why PD14 was locked in power saving mode. Fixed it about an hour ago and everything is working fine but its a serious headache.
Any luck figuring this out? I have the exact same issue. The PDR.EXE file is locked in power saving mode. I have searched every forum and found nothing.
Has anyone with AMD CCC had issuies with Power Director being locked in power saving mode? I want to set it to high performance but AMD's CCC program locks it. I've tried uninstalling both Intel and AMD drivers, reinstalled them with no effect. I tried to rename the EXE file for PD14 and add it to the exception list but that didnt work either. Kind of pulling my hair out on this (whats left of it haha).

With PD 14 being locked it only uses the Intel chipset which isnt terrible but lacks the power compared to the AMD card, and some features in PD 14 dont work (motion tracking was one).

I have a Lenovo y40-80 if that helps.

Any help or advice would be awesome

THanks

Alright so I was able to fix this tonight. The problem I was having was that AMD CCC was locking PD 14 in power saving mode. Because of this the program was unable to do certain things like motion tracking for example because it was working off of the Intel graphics.

I had to complety uninstall AMD drivers, and Intel Drivers. Than had to download Leshcatlabs version of AMD CCC for windows 10. And now everything is working fine and PD 14 is now using my AMD dedicated graphics. Talk about a headache. Doesnt seem like anyone else has had this problem, or at least had a hard time finding info on it. If you go with leshcatlabs AMD ccc version make sure to follow the instructions carefully. I'd be happy to explain it in more detail if anyone needs more info but I'm kind of tired of being on the computer now
Have both intel and amd drivers up to date. AMD CCC still has PD locked in power saving mode. Have no idea what I can do to unlock it.
thanks, got it. I dont see the AMD symbol. Shows the Intel symbol though. I suppose that means its not using the AMD card. I'll keep playing with the AMD ccc. Its a pain since they updated it. Appreciate the help!
Jeff where is the "about PD display"? Yesterday I opened up the AMD CCC and saw that PD 14 was locked and set in power saving mode. I made a file copy of the exe file and renamed it, added it to the list of programs, and set it at high performance. I have no idea if that worked haha. The laptop never seems to lag at all so its hard to tell.
Jeff, thanks for the reply. I tried what you said and still the same problem. And yes its a laptop. Lenovo y40-80. I had a similar problem in pd13 with video preview and what you said to do for this fixed that issue. It plays video fine currently in the normal edit window. Just not when opening the motion tracker window. I'm sure its my laptop. May have to try it on the desktop.
Thanks
When I select a video and enter motion tracker, the window opens. There is no live preview of the video, just sound plays. Just updated the program to the latest version as well and it is still doing this. I upgraded specifically to PD 14 for the motion tracking feature and it is useless at this point unless I can fix it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
