No video preview when using motion tracker

When I select a video and enter motion tracker, the window opens. There is no live preview of the video, just sound plays. Just updated the program to the latest version as well and it is still doing this. I upgraded specifically to PD 14 for the motion tracking feature and it is useless at this point unless I can fix it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

A laptop perhaps? You might try disabling hardware decoding and see if that corrects your issue, pref > Hardware Acceleration > I'd uncheck both for now.

Jeff, thanks for the reply. I tried what you said and still the same problem. And yes its a laptop. Lenovo y40-80. I had a similar problem in pd13 with video preview and what you said to do for this fixed that issue. It plays video fine currently in the normal edit window. Just not when opening the motion tracker window. I'm sure its my laptop. May have to try it on the desktop.
Thanks

Do you know what GPU you are currently using with PD? (The about PD displays current session GPU logo) Looks like that laptop has both a AMD Radeon R9 M275 and obviously the Intel iGPU. You might be able to control GPU with AMD CCC depending how Lenovo has confgured.

Jeff where is the "about PD display"? Yesterday I opened up the AMD CCC and saw that PD 14 was locked and set in power saving mode. I made a file copy of the exe file and renamed it, added it to the list of programs, and set it at high performance. I have no idea if that worked haha. The laptop never seems to lag at all so its hard to tell.

For about PD, click "PowerDirector" in upper right hand corner or the Movie Camera in upper left hand corner of an active PD edit session.

thanks, got it. I dont see the AMD symbol. Shows the Intel symbol though. I suppose that means its not using the AMD card. I'll keep playing with the AMD ccc. Its a pain since they updated it. Appreciate the help!

Since blue Intel logo, you are using the iGPU and not your AMD. You would get the red AMD logo in that screen when current PD session is utilizing the AMD GPU. Power saving would typically mean Intel, performance setting AMD.

Make sure your drivers are current with what Lenovo recommends, I see they had a 7/15/15 update for both GPU drivers if you are WIN10.

Have both intel and amd drivers up to date. AMD CCC still has PD locked in power saving mode. Have no idea what I can do to unlock it.
