No, I was rendering in 1080p.

Hi, I recently upgraded from PowerDirector 12 to 13 and had the same exact issue with only audio and no video after producing a MP4 video using the H.265 HEVC settings. I switched to the H.264 AVC and was able to get both audio and video in my Mp4 file. So, I thank you for this advice! But, I would like to know why the H.265 HEVC did not work. Could you please explain why this didn't work? Thanks!
H.265 HEVC is a new encoding method, not very many players can decode that format. H.264 has been around of a long time now, most players can play H.264 encoded videos.

Ah... OK. That makes sense. Thanks for the explanation!

Quote: I recently upgraded from ver. 10 to 13 on a 64 bit Windows 7 system. When I try to produce an MP4 movie I'm only getting audio (no video). I could get both audio and video producing in 13 * .WMV but final product was unsatisfactory. I used default settings for MP4 (aka HEVC). These are simple videos staring with a .WMV file created in PowerPoint (2010), then import to PD where I add the audio track, to produce an MP4 file for sharing. I've successfully created this type of video in 10 with no problem. Could it be the new HEVC coding that is causing the problem? Is it my media player? Any suggestions would help.

Yes, HEVC coding is the problem.

Use H.264 AVC. Dropdown has the MP4 profile.

I have PowerDirector 12 and would like to upgrade. I know PD 14 undoubtedly close to being released. If I buy PD 13 now and PD 14 comes out in the next week or so (maybe even 30 days???), does anyone know if Cyberlink will honor a free upgrade to PD 14 if PD 13 was recently purchased?
