I can now answer my own question.
.blk go into Encoding
.sdi go into Libiary
.sds go into Soundfiles.
I had made I note that I did not spot.
This may be usefull for future users.
So a question I cannot answer myself, at the moment. Is it possible to take a MP3 file and make it so it can work on Smartsound?

I had a lot of Smartsound files on my previous version of PowerDirector. On installing I totally deleted the previous version...... then I realised I had a lot of smart sound files on there! Luckily I had, some time ago, saved what I thought were the libary files etc just in case
Now I realise I dont know where to put these files in PD11. I can guess but it would be easier, quicker etc If someone would be kind enough to tell me. The file extensions I have are
.SDS
.BLX
and a lot without just says 44k on the end.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
I think this is a software design issue. It's thrown up a problem that Cyberlink cannot resolve. Just had a reply from 'support' and I am frankly disappointed. They suggest putting in the latest downloads/patches/updates. Which I have already done.
I had pd10 on my other laptop and it worked fine. I put pd11 trial on that one and now even pd10 has the same problem!
There is nothing wrong with the files I am trying to import. Tried all sorts of sizes etc and its just the .wav .mp3 bit it does not like. As I said before it does not even like its own tram.wav file.
Sorry to say it but I think I will give up on this software. Shame. Its been good in the past.
As a footnote let me say I have come across lots of others with the same problem. But as soon as cyberlink see it on their website it 'disappears' so expect this topic to vanish soon.
But thanks again for your reply guys!!

Hi guys, I am having real trouble here. Everything works fine on PD11 Version 11.0.0.3026. Except when PD tries to import MP3 or WAV files. It will not even download its own sample file Tram.wmv.
Things I have tried. Completely uninstalling then re-installing. Downloading latest updates and patches. Installing latest Codecs. A bunch of other things I cannot recall at the moment. Done registry error searches etc. Spent 2 days trying to fix this and had no reply from support.
Would really appreciate some guidance help here. The message I get when it fails to download :-
"An error occured when opening this media file when in the media libary. It may be because the file is broken, an unsupported format, protected video content, or for another reason. Try contacting your video provider for a different format." It then gives the address from where it tried to import from.
The files play on media player etc. Not locked protected etc. As I said before it also will not import its own Tram.wmv media file.
So any ideas suggestions please. No reply from 'support' yet. Thanks in advance.
