Quote: SOLUTION (If it is not to do with the drivers that is): You must go on to your NVidia settings (Usually found by right clicking your desktop and selecting it), then go on "Manage 3D settings", Change to program settings and click "Add", find PD10.exe (Your power director application file), add it. Then go down to "CUDA - GPU's" and click it, click "Use these GPU's" and don't select any GPU! And you're done, no driver change needed.

How you change that in AMD VISION Engine Control Center? ;/

I'm not sure, you might have to do some research yourself, see if you can find anything to do with CUDA's, but remember, don't disable it for everything.

This was an early remedy for PD11 before the CL patch... not nVidia patch, the issue was caused due to CL and nVidia working with different CUDA versions.

Turning off the CUDA in the nVidia control panel simply stops PD11/10 using CUDA to assist in rendering. so the process will be slower than if using the assistance of the GPU.

Suit yourself, but I'd like all my hardware to be working, now as CL fixed this issue certainly with PD11 and my learned associate states PD10, and as all users who experienced the problem, me included, now don't have an issue with rendering or what nVidia drivers we use, why isn't the OPs' system working like ours?

I agree. Changing those settings does stop the rendering problem but you have disabled your hardware.. In effect to fix a leaky faucet you have turned off the main water supply for PD10. I don't know why the PD10 patch and updated drivers didn't fix your issue.

For PD9 users this would be a good work a round since PD9 will not be patched to correct the driver compatibility problem.

All hardware continues to work at no cost after turning off the CUDA for only PowerDirector. - Or does it? I don't know, but everything for me is continuing to work like a treat.
Quote: Excellent. Very useful, I'm not sure if that has come up before as a cause of the rendering issue.
So, it was a graphics card setting, not the driver version itself, how did you determine the solution?

I actually found it - Someone had experienced it before, but there was only one place (I don't know where i found it any more). And yeah it was a setting on the graphics card, it was under the 3D settings so probably had quite a lot to do with rendering and is automatically checked so you have to turn it off.

Quote: Yes, please post your solution, though I must add the driver has been the ?only? culprit in the past for this issue, so anything you add will be much appreciated by our members.

Yes, please, Barldonkulous, post the solution...... That will help other users....

I already did, it's in the original post right at the top.

For PD10 - Probably the same issue

Sure, but i don't understand where you mean by Part B? - A bit "noobish" but hey, where do you mean?

Sorry, I was on a Blackberry, I might as well be using "smoke-signals", I wasn't sure how to link.

Quote: No, you don't unistall. You exec the last driver install, and in it, it will ask you if you want an express or advanced install, and on the next screen, you will have to check "Proceed to a new installation".

Oh god. Why is everything so complicated. So, I use the disk that came with the graphics card? or download the latest from NVidia again?

Yes, if you din't keep it, you have to download again the last driver from nvidia site.

I found the solution, will post it in the OP to help anyone with the same issue - IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DRIVERS!

Alright, I only got this graphics card and drivers recently, So I can't actually go to a different version of them, the only ones you can download from NVidia are the latest (Which are the ones i've got) and the other ones I have available are from the disk with the drivers, but that's just the update before this (Which also doesn't work) :/
Quote: Hi,

Try to procced to a full reinstallation of the last nvidia driver. Select "Advanced" (not express) and then select "Make a new installation".

I think these terms are not the very good ones in the english version of the nvidia driver installation exec. I'm frenck, and for me, it's "Presonnalisé(avancé)" and then "Effectuer une nouvelle installation".

It may work, after.

Hang on, so I un-install the drivers and then download them again from NVidia.com? Surely if I un-install the drivers my display's going to stop working.

Quote: Go to Nvidia directly, and get the latest driver for your rig, make sure to create a restore point first.

Also, be sure to be running the latest build of PD.

Actually, I did search, I did download the latest drivers and I did download the latest build. That's why I posted, i clearly state that I've tried what's been suggested before.

People have had this problem before, I know, but all of that seems to only be in PD9 and I'm getting it in PD10, everything that people have posted before to try and fix this has not helped AT ALL.

This problem in when editing, a little bar appears under your preview and renders every single second seperatly whilst editing, It takes about 3 seconds to render every second, so whilst producing a 20 minute video, you have to wait an hour for it to just render it - and then it loses some of the bits it's rendered already, meaning you have to re-render it.

First off, I would like to mention that I have unchecked the option for "HD Video Processing (Shadow File)" So that's not it - Infact it would seem that no setting under preferences is the option to stop this.

Here's a picture:

The green line on the timeline is what's rendered, the one under the preview is how much percent of that second has rendered.
