Jaime,

I see you suggest to use "2 stage" producing - i.e. first use "Produce", and then "Create Disc". It's a very wise way, if we consider PD bugs, but my question is about RE-rendering:

If I produce MPEG-2 at 1920x1080, for example, with CBR 32000 Kbps, Speed/Quality Indicator = 7 and Stereo Dolby Digital Sound with 384 Kbps, what will happen when I try to "Create Disc" (from that MPEG-2 file, of course) with 1920x1080 options?

I am asking because there is NO WAY to know which parameters PD uses within 1920x1080 options (Blu-ray disc)! CBR or CVBR? 20000 Kbps or 32000 Kbps? Speed/Quality Indicator = 6 or 7 or 3? Which bit rate for audio? 384 or 192, for example?
So, how I can be sure that PD will NOT re-render already produced movie? (SVRT-information indicator shows that video will not re-render, but sound will re-render, for above example. Time used for creation disc indicates the same).

OK, of course I've experimented a lot, and I've read the info from finished movies - seems that, for creating Blu-ray disc, PD uses CVBR with maximum 25000 Kbps, Speed/Quality Indicator = 6, and 256 Kbps for audio. Is there ANY way to change these parameters?

Is there any way to be 100% sure to conform "Produce" and "Create Disc" parameters?

No solution up to now.
I am not sure if all these settings work at all!
1. No matter what duration of music you set for both main and scenes menus, music for scenes menus is exactly 1/2 long. I wonder why is it so...
2. But, all described in article 1. is true just for the preview!! When you burn disc, you will find that music is cut-out for approximatively 3-6 seconds, for both main and scenes menus!! And also, there is NO fade-in and fade-out effects. Seems that PD8 cuts exactly fade-out part of music.

At my example it's like this: set both main and scenes menus music length 36 seconds (made especially for this purpose some music track of 36 seconds). At preview, main menu works perfect, 36 seconds long, with fade-in and fade-out. In the same time, music for scenes menu is 18 seconds long (??), with properly fade-in/out effects. But when I put burned disc in BD player, my main menu music stops at 30 seconds (and then repeat), and music for scenes menus stops at 15 seconds!?!? Without ANY fade-in/out effects!!
I thought there is a limit of 30 seconds, so try the same with 30 seconds long track. But, the result is the same, with others values: 24 sec. instead of 30, and 12 sec. instead of 15.

This is not particular issue in "Menu design", I'll describe the others in other forum thread. But, it's clear that "Menu design" is developed by OTHER programmers team!
