Is there a method of changing the music duration to longer than 10 seconds? For menu screens, when I add my music, It automatically loops at 10 seconds during preview, would like it to play entire song before looping. Please advise. Thank you Windows 7 Pro 64

I have not tried to fix this, but I believe it was said on here a few months ago that the duration cannot be changed. I hope I'm wrong on that as I have one I am about to start work on. __________________________________

Hi Mark,

The only music duration that I am aware of that you can change is located on the Disc Playback Mode Menu. The Playback Mode Button is located right above the BURN button..lower right corner. The default duration is 10 seconds but can be increased to a maximum of 99 seconds. I input 120 seconds to get the warning message to be displayed for you. This is only on the Thumbnail page, not the Root Menu page.

It may not be what you were looking for. Worth a try anyways. What's the worse thing that could happen? I would be wrong! It's an exclusive club! It costs absolutely nothing to get into it!!

Regards,

Kevin

Ahhh one of my HUGE HUGE Pet Peeves and has been for years. You can actually increase the menu audio to 1.39 minutes, if you can increase the menu time itself. There are some menus with videos in them and you can replace the videos in the menus with longer videos, HOWEVER, no matter how long you make the videos within the menu, it is still stopped at 1.39. I'm sure too, that most people would not want to start playing with the menu folders.

In my experience, you can choose the 99 seconds as Kevin says but if the length of the menu is less, it doesn't always increase the background audio.

I am hoping that at some point Cyberlink will allow us to choose the menu length, with the understanding that the longer the menu the larger the file.

So I have no solution for you, but just wanted to take this opportunity to complain, once again, about this issue.

I am not sure if all these settings work at all!
1. No matter what duration of music you set for both main and scenes menus, music for scenes menus is exactly 1/2 long. I wonder why is it so...
2. But, all described in article 1. is true just for the preview!! When you burn disc, you will find that music is cut-out for approximatively 3-6 seconds, for both main and scenes menus!! And also, there is NO fade-in and fade-out effects. Seems that PD8 cuts exactly fade-out part of music.

At my example it's like this: set both main and scenes menus music length 36 seconds (made especially for this purpose some music track of 36 seconds). At preview, main menu works perfect, 36 seconds long, with fade-in and fade-out. In the same time, music for scenes menu is 18 seconds long (??), with properly fade-in/out effects. But when I put burned disc in BD player, my main menu music stops at 30 seconds (and then repeat), and music for scenes menus stops at 15 seconds!?!? Without ANY fade-in/out effects!!
I thought there is a limit of 30 seconds, so try the same with 30 seconds long track. But, the result is the same, with others values: 24 sec. instead of 30, and 12 sec. instead of 15.

This is not particular issue in "Menu design", I'll describe the others in other forum thread. But, it's clear that "Menu design" is developed by OTHER programmers team!

After some experimenting wit Menu Designer, here are results:
1. Definitely, preview mode is useless! In preview mode sound is OK, but video is going slower for about 15% then normal?!? As a result, if you set video and audio to conform in PREVIEW mode, you will get output with normal video, and trimmed audio (trimmed for about 15%).
2. My conclusion about duration of "scenes menu" as 1/2 duration of "main menu" - is not correct! Duration of "scene menu" is exactly equivalent to duration of "background video or image", which you set up for "scenes menu".

Practically, because of mentioned problems, you can NOT make working menu.

Solution:
1. Don't use PHOTO for background. Use VIDEO instead. It's important, because Menu Designer takes duration of video as a duration of menus! Just make (in PD) video from photo, that works.
2. Don't use "fade-in" and "fade-out" for sounds in Menu Designer. Use only "auto repeat". Make your own audio track (in Audacity, for example) and if you want, make fade-in and fade-out in this specialized sound software.
3. Make video (or videos) for "background video", with duration both for "main manu" and "scenes menu" - 99 seconds (it's maximum duration for menu in Menu Designer).
4. Make duration of audio as you wish, but less than 99 seconds.
5. Set duration of "playback mode" 99 second (maximum).

This is not ideal, but for these 99 seconds you have full control over audio and video. After 99 seconds you will have "jump", both with video and audio, but it's unlikely that somebody will hold on menu so long time, with 100% attention.
