Bit of a question that hopefully might clear up my confusion with upgrading (Also a question that surprisingly (for me) is not in the FAQ).
Do I have to upgrade from PowerDirector 17 ultra to PowerDirector 18 Ultimate?
Or is it possible to upgrade from PowerDirector 17 ultra to PowerDirector 18 ultra in order to save money?
This might be in a question that is already answered somewhere, but this is a little more convenient for people with the same question I believe.
Contrary to optodata suggestions here, this is a known (almost controversial) issue with laptops that have multiple GPU's.
Let me first say right of the bat: I completely understand the frustration and anger (I've been on the same boat), but please keep it civil, optodata is just trying to help.

I hadn't noticed any delay between the audio and video, but one thing you can try is to change the Timeline frame rate: to match your source clip, which is 25fps.
Your project is currently set to 30 FPS (NTSC), and that can sometimes cause sync and frame skip issues with 25p clips. You should also be able to use 50 FPS (PAL).

I also watched the comparison clip from your SL2, but I can barely hear any differences between the two clips even with headphones on. In the produced version, I hear your voice as slightly more distinct from the background music. Can you describe the problem in more detail?

I want to correct a mistake at the beginning of the thread and I did another test myself.
First of all, I did not mean leaking behind. It is instead the opposite, it looks like the audio is playing earlier than the actual video. Don't know how that slipped through.
Strangely, when that video is on YouTube, it does not seem to leak forward. You can see it here.

Thanks for making the screen recording. You're clearly using the trial version of PD17, and it has a significant number of limitations. See the Download Information tab on this page.
You also have lots of things going on in the video, and it's still difficult to tell what is intentional and what is a problem. I believe you're pointing out that the audio is wrong when you do the brief blurry cut @ 4 seconds on your timeline, but your timeline is so small that I can't see what's going on.
I also saw that the first time you produced the video, it was terribly distorted, but other profiles worked better.
If you use File > Pack Project Materials... and save everything to a cloud folder, pasting the link to it here will let me (and any other forum members who want to help) download it and test it on our systems. You have to be comfortable sharing your project and the source clips, but that's the best way for us to really understand what's happening.

I have compiled up a video comparing the output video from PD with the input clip and the preview on PD. In the output video the sound is weirdly out of sync. This video is here.

I use the trail version to explore problems before I consider buying, so that's why I'm using the trail version .

I'm experiencing file issues and it gives me YouTube blue balls.
When I export a video and open it on vlc the audio is leaking behind. When I open it on movies and tv it skips frames and makes it look weird.
