I am an infrequent user of PD who recently upgraded to PD 18 Ultra Version 18.0.2405.0 SN VDE191105-01. My questions are so basic that they don't seem to appear in the help files.

I downloaded a nice image to use as a background image in a slideshow. With PD 18 open in "Media Room" I went to "Background Images" where I see the stock images that came with the software. I right-clicked and selected "Import media files..." I selected the image I just downloaded in the "Downloads" folder on my PC and that image appeared in PD 18. It appeared in the "Media Content" area, not the "Background Images" area but I found it. I then added the image to my timeline and did some editing of the new image. When asked, I chose "Save as" and supposedly saved my edited background image. I then closed PD 18 and re-opened it. Neither the original background image nor the edited background image seems to appear anywhere in any section of the "Media Room."

This raises a couple of questions.

1. If I successfully import an image into the "Media Content" area of "Media Room" how can I move that image into the "Background Images" area?
2. If I do get an image in either the "Media Content" or "Background Images" area, shouldn't they reappear after I've closed and then reopened the program?
3. Where should I look for the edited background image I saved?

Thanks in advance. Point me toward a tutorial or section of the Help manual if appropriate.
The 4:3 frames did get stored. When I switched the aspect ratio of my project to 4:3, the 4:3 frames showed up and the 16:9 frames disappeared from the PiP Objects room.
Tony:

Thanks for the reply. Before posting my question, I did check every possible location for the downloaded frame, including in PiP Objects. It wasn't there. After getting your note, I checked again and the downloaded frame was still not there. Then I did some experimenting by downloading a random sample of new frames and I found the problem.

All frames with a 16:9 aspect ratio showed up in the PiP Objects area but all with a 4:3 ratio were nowhere to be found. My project is 16:9 but the original frame I downloaded and could not find was 4:3. Apparently the only downloaded frames that show up in PiP Objects are those that match the ratio of your current project. That's why I couldn't find the original download.

A lesson learned. Thanks again.

I'm using PD9 and have a very simple question. After browsing the many Titles, Frames, Pips and so forth available at Director Zone, I downloaded a Title and a Frame. Both appeared in the Downloads on my hard drive. I clicked each one (separately) as directed and got the message each was now available for use by my software. When I clicked on Title Room, I found the recently downloaded Title with no trouble. Where the heck is the Frame? I have no clue where to look.
I've downloaded a nice holiday title from the Director Zone for use with my 4:3 video. The title is also in 4:3 format. The title consists mainly of a string of ornaments around the outside of the frame with space in the center for a text or image. When I use the Title Designer window to add text, I notice that almost all of the ornament string is outside the TV Safe Zone, meaning very little will be visible in the finished video. I'd like to be able to shrink the title, maintaining its proportions, so the ornament string is within the TV Safe Zone. Is this doable in PD9?
Yes, I did save the project after adding chapters using the "Save" command. And I just stumbled into the answer to my problem. After restarting PD9 and opening my saved project, I was viewing the project in the Media Room. By chance, I switched to the Chapter Room in order to add the "lost" chapters and I discovered my earlier chapters were still there. It's now obvious that you must be in the Chapter Room to see chapters. Sure would be nice to have a better manual that explains these little things.

Thanks for your reponse.
I edited my first video with PD9 by removing unwanted portions and adding chapter breaks. Before leaving the program, I saved my work using "Save Project As...". Today when I opened that saved file, I see my original unedited video with none of the changes I made. What am I missing?

Followup: After checking more closely, the deletions DID appear in my saved project but the chapter breaks and chapter thumbnails did not. I started fresh today with my original, unedited video. After deleting clips, I saved the project, closed PD9 and reopened my saved project. The delections were saved correctly. However, I then added chapter breaks and thumbnails, saved the project, closed PD9 and reopened my saved project. AGAIN, the chapter breaks and thumbnails are NOT present in my saved project.

As I said before, what am I missing?
