I have a 10 second HD 30 frames a second mov file. I didn't find a way to upload it here. I can post it on my server when I get home tonight and give you a link to it. Here is the link and I will get it posted tonight after 7pm:
http://readyrangers.tzo.com/atc9k.mov
Or if you have a quicker way let me know and I can upload it that way.
I checked out your camera and the gopro. I am often outside... camping, caving, hiking and backpacking, kayaking and I work outside as well for at&t. So a waterproof - shock proof was a big seller to me.
I have seen a lot of cameras ruined where I go so I got this just before Christmas. I have a peltzi helmet coming in this week to mount it on and I bought a CLASS 4 (recommended but your right a 6 would be faster a buddy bought a class 10 this last week) 32 gig card should be here this week as well.
Thanks for the interest in the video mov file. Quick time plays it fine. I am going to double check that PD8 plays and edits it fine tongiht but will need to remove 9 and reinstall. I want to double check it.
I am glad to help in any way I can.

See the thread mpeg no audio.
It's really the mov files that are not displaying or playing the audio. Quicktime plays them and so does PD8 but not PD9. They are in slow motion and the audio track isn't even shown on the time line. They play in the viewer window but they are out of sync and the video is in slow motion and the audio finishes in half the time.
Just wanted to clear it up where the problem is at. MOV files not the mpeg files.
I just bought a new ATC 9K HD headcam. It's a waterproof camera and it will do HD FULL 60 frames a second and on a 32 gig class 4 card 5 hours of video. So it's important to me to be able to edit this footage.
I am very pleased with PowerDirector 8 it was doing a great job with these files. I can be patient and go back to that version for now. I did enjoy the speed and power of PD9 for my other editing tasks with different video formats. They worked fine and I was excited to see them produced nicely.

I have tried various settings with the Super. It renders the video but the audio has a loud clacking noise over the video. I think your right. I will need to go back to v8 to do any editing with these mov files.
Thanks for your help.

I found the Super Converter. It got funny to me. It was like they wanted you to download about 20 other programs and try them before you got to the free super program. GRIN!
My first test rendered the video part but the audio was clacking. I will try some other audio settings and look back at what you set your files to.

I buy my software that has good forum support. It's important to me. It's enjoyable to me to read the tips and tricks and the Powerdirector 8 and 9 help videos are wonderful. It's heard to beat that kind of tutoring.
Its very frustrating to have a progam just hang or not do what it's supposed to do. I know folks that dropped the video editing on the pc and went out and bought a mac. I am always hopefull....
I downloaded the Super Converter but haven't looked at it yet. I must have 10 or so programs like this I have used over the past 15 years. Always a new file type to make a old program obsolete. I like Powerdirector. It's smart.

It's still won't play right in the viewer acts like really slow motion and no audio. If you look at the clip properties it does not list audio properties. I have a desktop video editor with vista and a laptop with vista same results. Powerdirector 8 plays them fine and edits them fine.
Quicktime plays them fine.
I turned off the shadow file switch and it made no difference.
Nothing on the time line except this one .mov clip. I made 3 others around 20 seconds each and it was the same result. It's HD video. I tried different settings on the video camera as well. 30, 60 HD FullHD and WVGA 60 same results.
The only thing I have changed in the past 2 days was the upgrade from PowerDirector 8 to PowerDirector 9. I compile software (not for profit) so understand a glitch or two. I think you guys should have this fixed in no time.
Great product. Will be patient and use the super work around if I can locate it or just use ver8 until it's fixed. I am so used to using converters to get Pinnacle Studio to work for me with out it hanging.. but then again... ops that's why I left them. GRIN! Will hang patient for a while.

I just upgraded from 8 to 9. I too am having the same trouble and the video playback is very slow with the Quicktime .mov files.
Ver8 works fine. I am applying patch right now. Will see if it got fixed yet.

Thanks to the Fourm Administrator and the Techinical Support for Powerdirector. They got me upgraded to the new version and it's working great. Thanks Team Cyberlink.
I am excited to get to use the new 9 version. It is nice to have a program that is rock solid that works. Over the past 2 weeks I have thrown quite a few things at it and it has worked flawlessly. I am impressed. My experience with Pinnicle Studio was cross your fingers and hope for the best. I liked there easy to use GUI and Power Director is simular.
I am very satisfied with the service I received.

Thanks that gives me hope. I was a little supprised they didn't do that on the first email. I sent scans of my receipts and rebates. The many other softwares I have purchased in the past have come clean on silly things like this. I am hopeful this company does as well.
I make quite a few productions for our Royal Rangers from Outpost - District events. I just use what works and am hopeful with PowerDirector at least it doesn't lock up at each stage of the game. I have several pcs and it matters not which one I use. Powerdirector passed the lock up tests on laptop and my desktop. It hasn't locked up yet. I have made several productions simple ones just messing around with the program.
I told Office Depot after they told me you broke the seal too bad. "Is that your best offer?, I will just take my 2000 a year in business and go else where.

I downloaded the Powederdirector 9 software and gave it a trial over a 2 day pierod. Having owned several upgrades of premiere, every version of studio pinnicle and half a dozen other video editors I read the reviews and then downloaded power director. I found it to be very stable and it did a good job and it was user friendly. All good things.
So I stopped by the Office Depot store to kills some time while I was waiting to meet the family at Olive Garden and saw they had video director there. I bought the ultra version and when I got home I cut the clear tape and pulled out the cd evelope and opened the software on the computer and hit the registration screen and plugged in the numbers... BAM. HEY STUPID YOU BOUGHT LAST YEARS SOFTWARE.
I thought hum. So I emailed Cyberlink and they promptly told me to take it back to Office Depot. I copied their letter and brougth the box and cd back to Office Depot. They said to bad so sad you broke the seal on the box.
So I am waiting for Cyber link to get back to me its been 5 days but it's around the Holidays. One would think they would upgrade a retail version with a new version after emailing them the copies of the receipts and such daiting to last week.
It was my mistake that is correct. I spent 107.00 bucks on a program. I own a lot of software it will really supprise me if Cyberlink doesn't upgrade me. I am waiting patiently.
I like the version 9 software much better than the 8. 8 is still a good solid program. Yet it's not what I thought I was buying.
Anyone have any suggestions other than remain patient?
I just got a ATCK9 Action Video Camera a few days ago. It's waterproof and shock resistant and its really light for a head cam. Plan on taking it on some of my Royal Ranger (Church boyscouts) backpacks and campouts. We are camping in a cave next week and am making a good head strap to handle the camera more comftrably. Version 8 of Power Director did a good job of editing video and producing a movie. Pinnicle Studio spends half it's time locking up ever since they dropped smart sound for the other program. Smart sound is a good program.
Well if anyone has any tips to get ver9 holler.
