I just wonder if all of the users that are having problems with PD9, did as I did and do the following.
Use Windows program un-install to un-install PD9 from the computer. This includes Photo Now and Wave Editor.
Remove PD9 from the registry manually or use Cyberlink CL Cleaner.
Re-install basic Cyberlink Power Director 9 on their computer with the content program.
Then install the update 2930.
I found that after I did this I can't find problems or crashes in editing or producing.
Just a thought!
My Cyberlink PD9 is running very smoothly now with 2930 update installed, Haven't had one crash and have been doing some heavy editing with MP4 files. No problems with producing in any format, so I am a happy camper now.
As I indicated in the post I had a problem when I first installed update 2930 with producing in any format hanging up.
After doing a full un-install and removing PD9 from registry and re-installing the program with update 2930, I have not had any problems.
Yes. CL Cleaner. I understand that this cleans the registry of the PD9 files. I ususally go into the registry(regedit) and do it manually. I am willing to try anything to get this program to work. I am tired of un-installing, re-installing.
In the past I was afraid to install any new updates as I didn't know what would happen. For a long time I didn't install any updates, but I decided to try 2930.
The program now seems to be working OK after doing the un-install and re-install the program and the 2930 update. Got my fingers crossed.
I used the Cyberlink registry cleaner. I also went into the registry and made sure all of the PD9 software entrys were deleted.
As I said in the post after I re-installed PD9 without any updates the files I produced to MP4 worked OK.
And then when I installed the 2930 update, it then worked OK.
After installing update 2930, I produced an existing PDS file on my computer and it stopped in the middle of the production. Had to ctl/alt/delete to close program. I then tried another PDS file on my computer and ran into the same problem. Un-installed PD9 completely and cleaned registry.
Re-installed PD9 without any updates and tried the same file and it worked flawlessly.
Installed content program and it still worked flawlessly with the same file.
Installed update 2930 and this time it is working properly.
I don't know what the answer is on these updates. I had been running the programs without any updates installed and it seemed to worked OK. It seems like it is hit and miss when in the past I tried to install any of the Cyberlink updates.
I wish I could get a definitive answer on what is going on.
I have a very fast and robust computer with the latest updates.
