Same problem, both with MKV files and Blu-ray disks. No passthrough with HDMI. ATI HD6450 into Yamaha rv-x2065, the only change is the powerdvd 14 patch.
If you have Blu-ray and mkv working please post how; ensuring first that it is HD sound that is working. It is possible to playback no HD sound through HDMI.

Although I currently do not have an answer, I wanted to add details of the same problem, it is probably not related to the update from 13 to 14 but an update to 14. I have had 14 working with HD sound, both DTS and Dolby, but following the patch update today I too have lost HD sound.
Hopefully Cyberlink will pick this up and resolve.
