Dafydd,
As mentioned in previous posts I tried both of your latest suggestions previously with no effect. I just ordered a new computer so I will try again with the new machine and see if I have success.

Why have you not updated to the latest Nvidia driver?
I had the latest driver and had the rendering problems I described. I carefully researched and read the forums on this site which suggested I should do a "clean" uninstall of the updated driver and reinstall of the 301.42 version

Now I will research and attempt to find the answers to your other questions while wondering if they will specifically help me solve the rendering in the timeline problem.
Thank you for your continued help!

HDedit,
Thank you for your reply.
Please elaborate SPECIFICALLY on what in my system would cause a rendering problem in the timeline?
Comparing my specs to the PD11 requirements
Operating system: XP Service Pack 3... CHECK!
CPU Processor for "DVD quality "High Quality MPEG-2" or "High Quality MPEG-4": AMD Athlon 64 X2... CHECK!
Memory: 512 MB Required...CHECK!
Hard Disk Space: "10 GB (20 GB recommended) for DVD Production"... CHECK!
Graphics Card: "128 MB VGA Vram or higher"... CHECK!
Nvidia: GeForce 8500GT/9800GT and above GeForce GT/GTS/GTX 200/400/500/600 Series... Hmmmm I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE
Can I replace the video card and SPECIFICALLY fix the rendering problem in the timeline or is there a different solution?

I have been very pleased with MPEG-4 format. MPEG-4 compresses the files small enough to pack a lot of minutes onto a disc but still looks crystal clear (depending on the quality of source file) on a large HD flat screen.

I am using PD11 (Ultra)
I am having the dreaded green rendering in the timeline problem that is so common with all versions of Power Director...
One fix I have used in the past was to remove the video that was having the problem from the timeline and library, rename it original source folder then import it to the library again and re-add it to the timeline, however this is no longer working either...
I have tried downloading PD11 patches
I have attempted to do a "clean" uninstall/reinstall of my Nvidia driver to the 301.42 version as suggested in a previous forum.

Tony, thanks so much for the response!
It was suggested that I try what you described "produce the file" Which I tried. It played perfectly in preview but also didn't burn correctly.
Could you please describe in greater detail this;
"1. Produce the project to MPEG-2 DVD HQ
2. Open a new project and import/insert the produced MPEG-2 file "
I have gotten as far as producing the file to MPEG-2 DVD HQ then I have saved the file (with a new name) and then click create disc and burn it.
I might be missing a step or two?

I have the PowerDirector 10 Ultra version.
I created and edited a 30 minute+ long project with still pictures, videos, music, transitions etc.
The problem I have is that even though the project plays perfectly during the preview portion of the "create disc" phase, when the project is burned to DVD it is missing random video, pictures and/or music.
I have been back and forth with emailing support and thus far I have updated my video card driver, tried burning a produced version of the project and still have the same problem.
PLEASE HELP!
PS. If you need technical information from my computer to help me you will need to provide specific step-by-step directions
