Thanks for that. I'll get onto it. All the best.

Phil
Okay, I know, probably not the best system, and asking way too much, but wondering if there's anything I can do (maybe a util to flush ram?) to stop PD9 from locking up, usually about ten minutes in to a 1 hour + project, or is there some other way of bringing a bit of stability to the thing?

Thanks

WIn Vista SP 2
4 gig ram
Intel core 2 quad Q6600 2.40 GHz
NVidia gts 450 (latest drivers)
100gb HDD
Asus MB P5N-E SLI
Sound - onboard Nforce 650i

PD 9 (latest version)
Thing is, PD9 used to run fine on this project. I had to reinstall, and because of another prog, employ the 3g switch, and now it runs pretty bad. Also noticed however, my mobo is reporting only 2 gig of ram, so there's something wrong there. Just trying to sort this out now.
As for it needing more than 4 gig of ram, then it should state that on the specs. It says 3 gig and above, and says vista, not Vistas 64, which alone can use more than 3 gig of ram. If it's ridiculous for me to expect it to run well on 3 gig, then its ridiculous not to say that on the specs - not looking for a row over that, just how it seems to me.
Hi just upgraded to PD10 from 9, and previously, after having had to run the 3 gig switch in Vista (becasue of instability in another prog), now PD9 and also 10 seem to run much more sluggishly - playback when editing is choppy, and I'm getting lag from one frame to another. Is this likely because of the 3 gig switch? I heard it was not supposed to affect such progs - if anything make them better as it allows windows to use Ram more effectively.
Anyone know the scoop?

Thanks
Well, Dafydd, bought PD10, and am trying it now. Will let you know.

Phil
I'm getting the same problem with the PD10 trial. Won't see Mt2 files. I want to see how well it performs compared to PD9, but only work with MT2. files. Really bad decision, as I've already had problems getting it to start. I'm certainly not going to buy it until I know it performs better that PD9, but have know way of knowing.
Poor decision in my book.
