Sorry. Acronymitis. Of course they are JPGs, exported from Corel Photo-Paint, ranging from 250k to 1M.
I work so much with PDFs, the acronym comes off my fingertips.

I have a similar, but worse, problem. PowerDirector 9 Ultra64 running on a Dell M6500 mobile workstation with 8 cores and 8GB Ram under Windows 7-64. I'm trying to make a very simple YouTube submission consisting of individual PDF picture files with voice narrative of about one minute for each picture -- no actual video, just low resolution pictures with narrative. The application is very fragile and crashes if I click the wrong thing, drag to the wrong place, or try to produce a file with four of the PDF files with identical voice segments. I was able to complete a file with one PDF and one audio segment (MP3) without crashing, but when I tried four segments, it crashed. I'm sure I haven't tripped all the crash scenarios yet, but the program is unusable at present.
