I've had the same reply about it no longer being supported, it's wholly unacceptable.

I've sent a reply back and will see what happens. It certainly seems like grounds for contacting Trading Standards and also Watchdog here in the UK.

Well, I finally got a reply today having supplied all the information requested way back on 2011/09/13 and it sounds the same as other have heard and even though I did mention PowereDVD Ultra 7 it doesn't get mentioned at all:

Edit: I've also now sent a follow up question to them regarding PowereDVD Ultra 7.
Quote:
They need to make a patch, or give us a newer program, and hurry up, I want to watch my FILMS!

You would think that anyone who produces software/firmware to play blu-ray discs would have advanced knowledge of upcoming releases (i.e. the Star Wars blu-rays) way before the consumers actually get their hands on them so any changes that may be required to play them are made well in advance so that when the consumers do get the new releases, they can be played without a problem.

I've had my Star Wars set for a week now and can't play them
I guess it's good that others are raising this issue and it'll cause Cyberlink will do the right thing and provide a fix.

I've also been in touch with support through a support ticket (on 2011/09/12) and "Aryan" ask the same questions as has been asked of others. I've supplied everything asked for (on 2011/09/13) but have yet to receive a reply.

I also don't see why there should not be a fix supplied for both version 7 and 8. I've paid for both pieces of software so that I can play films on all blu-ray discs, not selected ones.
Hi,

I've checked that I have the latest versions installed for PowerDVD Ultra 8 and 7 and I have according to the update facility. I'm running on Windows 7 32-bit which is all up to date as well.

The Cyberlink Windows 7 compatibilty check says PowerDVD 8 is ok but 7 may not be (it say it requires an update with with an action of 'Coming soon').

I've attempted to play a couple of the discs (episode I and IV) but in both players the result is the same; I get the warning screen saying my blu-ray player requires an update and to vist their web site (http://cyberlink.com/bdupdate). Doing so just reports that it's up to date.

This is a major show stopper, what is the fix?

Thanks
