Thanks Robert.

From what you say I assume each install phones home via internet,
and occasionally someone in the forum reports exceeding the activations.

That works for me. I reconfigure often, but only one box.

The minimum, it's 6G for 64bit systems, where did you learn it was 4G?

http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector/requirements_en_US.html

Which of my three questions lead you to believe I was looking for the incorrect MINIMUM?
I look at Senior Contributor Robert2 S's reference to:
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector/requirements_en_US.html

It seems a tad curt. We out here are looking a references like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia_gpu

and wondering if support is Robert2 S's motive.

I just read the entire cover of a PD9 deluxe retail carton, and I see no reference to GPU or video card requirements. There's a lot of stuff on the cover, but with the severe GPU restriction absent, an accident no doubt. Take a look yourself, but bring a magnifying glass, it's apparently not designed for humans to read with the naked eye.

But perhaps I'm insubordinate. Perhaps we should be QUIET involuntary beta-testers.
Given a system with 64bit Windows 7 and 64 bit PD9,

In your experience, is there a memory ceiling?
If Windows was maxed out (192G) would Win7 offer it to PD9, and would PD9 use it?
Will it place it's temp or shadow files in memory?
Rephrased, What's the practical ceiling for system memory?

Is GPU memory important (size, discreet etc.) for video? (not graphics, not gaming, not 3D)

With a tight budget, would you lean toward system memory or GPU (discreet) memory?

May I have an interpretation/translation of your license/novel

I have not installed PD9 yet.

I'm thinking of installing PD9 on my current (old) laptop, however if the performance is inadequate I will fork out the bucks to buy a (new) laptop and install it there instead.

The Question:
If I install on "old" will I be prevented from installing on "new"

In this forum I've seen conflicting answers to this:
one machine at a time VS. one installation

BTW, for those of you who would reply by asking me the obvious, if I'm aware of the trial software, I ask you, are you aware it cannot be patched to the current rev? In other words, the commercial CD is essentially BETA.
