Thanks for the replies. I updated my video drivers and installed SP3 but still no luck. If I were to uninstall and then reinstall PD9 may that work? Will my pds files still be available if I do so?
I've been working on the same pds file for over a month now. I recently made several additions to the project and saved my work, but now when I attempt to re-open this file I get an error message saying "PowerDirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens each time I attempt to open this file, while my other saved pds files open fine. Please tell me there is a way I can alleviate this issue. I've spent hours upon hours on this thing and people are expecting a lot out of it. The file in question loads to 77% before the error message appears and forces me to close.

I have not renamed or relocated any of the projects assets. I did delete several clips that were in the library but weren't being used because I suspected them of maybe being corrupt, but still no luck. I had recently been experiencing a bad rash of frequent crashes with the file before this larger issue has presented itself.
