Hi Carl- No, I don't have QuickTime- not online. When I start PD11 it prompts me to download MP4 component- but of course I can not. A computer shop friend will do so when I take my desktop to him ( when I get a lift to the store) but I am afraid that although I may get it that first time- what if I have to do a reinstall- I would have to do so all over again. I wish I could get the component so I could do it when ever I need it.

Thanks Tony for the beautiful gold Jesus Logo coming around the earth with golden rays extending from it- That is gorgeous- I couldn't believe the sharpness ( viewing here on good library computer- not so sharp on my home computer- I think thats half my trouble- my limited system at home) I sent that clip to Tony Tona but he wants to use the stuff he got on YouTube in the intro. He called me last night and said he is satisfied with one of the clips I put together for him ( its al his idea though- I just assembled the clips)

Could anyone tell me- what are the little green rectangles that appear on the line where video clip "markers" are placed, just above the clip on top of the timeline view? When the video seems to be "rendering in the background" when I try to preview a clip, sometimes these little green rectangles act as a progress bar. Other times they just appear and I don't know what it is that I am doing that is causing it.

I'm sure I have a very inadequate system and so am not getting as much as I could out of PD!!- but I am learning to make the best use out of what I have- and I'm pretty happy with it. It is quite a tool.

Hey Tony- are you British? I ask as I have a friend in England--- I have a BHI ham radio noise reduction unit he sent to me from England (he built it from a kit) - right here in my backpack (I have to walk a mile into town to get in here to the internet- no car)
Thanks tony, I downloaded it and will try it.

I'm tweeking the name Jesus that comes up in front of a spinning earth for the TV intro. The only problem I'm having is that little changes done are hard to see in edit mode of PD11, and its only in the final version that you really see how it will turn out. That, for me, is after making PD11 product output an mpg in VideoPad ( I don't have MP4 component for PD11) SO, I have to do the whole thing- get it all finished, and only THEN do I see what the slight changes I adjusted in "fix/enhance" accomplished . And the fades don't play in the edit mode of PD11- it just skips past them- so you can't fine tune them in edit mode. Is there any solution?
Would having the Mp4 component installed in PD11 make an improvement?
Thanks Jaime-esque.
I'll check out Youtube, Carl, thanks.
Troy- I watched some of BorisFX part one- "Creating the Universal Title effect". Awesome.
Then I watched some of wikibooks ebook talking about Blender. I think I am going to try that.
Thanks Carl for plug-ins info.
I have been working lots on Tony Tona Ministries Opening sequence- I sure hope he likes it.
I don't have the MP4 component for PD11, BUT I think I have gotten the resolution quality up, creating what is perhaps a "super avi" file- going from MP4 from Youtube, then using H264 encoder in VideoPad output file options, then converting in AnyVdieoConverter to XVID, all at 60fps. Then working with that file in PD11. It may just be in my imagination, but it seems of higher quality... in fact- I'd bet on it.

I really like PowerDirector11. Thanks to the people at CyberTech for creating it.
I want a title to sweep around a globe like The Universal name sweeps around the earth in title sequence of their movies. Is there anywhere I could get a plugin for my PowerDirector11 program that would let me do this?
Jaime, I just came from the computer store. The first thing the guy asked me is "did you get it"? Meaning the location of driver/codec needed to upload mp4 into powerdirector11. I said no, that it may be the weak link with the powerdirector line of products.

I was going to take the computer in to his store, but cab fare is too much. When I finally get a lift into town he said he will try to get the mp4 component- I'm hoping it will take a few moments, like the message says it will, but I am not getting my hopes up. I may have to settle for AVI's only. It's a good program- ton's of tools. But if it does not activate the component I won't proceed any further. I'm not sure why there is a problem with the mp4 activation, maybe it's a anti piracy thing- a copyright protection thing, without wihich these kinds of programs would never be written. I don't know.

I am trying to talk Tony into learning the Sony Vegas program that they have at the television studio. The intro to his show would not be a difficult project. It's not rocket science. I am going to check out tutorials for Sony Vegas and figure out what he would have to do so I can talk him through it.

Man, I hope you didn't spend a lot for the program. I got mine on Ebay for about $60.00.

Computer services technician just told me to ask where he can get driver/codec, whatever is needed, to activate the MP4 H-264 component in my PowerDirector11 program for my computer. I do not have internet at my home where the desktop computer is located. I have no transportation to get the computer to the technician at the computer store. He said to try and find out exactly where he must go to get the components and he can then help me.
I am making the title sequence for Tony Tona Ministries, a world wide Christian Internet television program. The sequence, which I made with Power Director 11 and which he likes very much, is in the AVI format, which he says would not be appropriate for the tv show. The studio requires MP2 format clips, but Tony said that they can convert it from MP4 to MP2 at the studio.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

I'm afraid it may be beyond my capabilities here- I was told to get off this 15 minute computer half hour ago, in fact. ( I don't even drive!)

What about Videopad? I have the free version- but the ability to export as mp4 is disabled after 14days.

I like videopad- it works a lot better than win moviemaker, but can't work with mp4 videos-

any suggestions would be great help
Thanks Carl and Bubba.
It's disapointing that I can't get powerdirector for my offline computer, but it's good to know the facts.

I use videopad, but would like to include some footage taken with an HD h.264 camera (in my "Watkins Glen Grand Prix Festival" video, featuring my cousins d-jag, to be put on youtube.)

I have found an acceptable way to do it, but there is still a little jerking in the widescreen footage.

Could you recommend video editing software I could use, considering I have no internet connection?
I have very limited time online. One hour a day. I want to try powerdirector, it looks good. I believe I have the correct operating system and the computer skills necessary to use it etc. Will buy if it works. Have paypal etc.

I would appreciate it if someone would tell me how I can get the trial version of the powerdirector program.

I can have the computer for over an hour but have to register in advance for that.

I have windows xp, and use videopad and moviemaker- I've posted on myspace and youtube. (but not in mp4's. )

thanks.
