Can you explain to me the technical reason behind this anomaly?
The included Panny software can do it, why not "Power" Director?
Seems a bit odd to me.

Get an error message about not finding any valid format on the device.
I CAN download the video through the supplied Panny software and THEN import them all, BUT there seems to be an issue with directly capturing.
I have seen someone else commenting on the same issue(albeit a little different) on a Canon device.
