MY poweredvd17 works when a Blue Ray disc is inserted it automatically recognises the Disc ID.
But that is as far as it goes ,,
in order to play the disc ( blue ray) i have to go to files / this PC find the BDrom drive..
right click the icon and hit the Play button listed . see attached
for regular dvd discs ( 480 p) the software automatically plays the disc .. BUT not for blue ray..
what is not activated or turned on for my window 10 Pro version 21H2 ??
thanks

For a few years now I have tried very hard to use the Poweredvd 11 / 12 / 13 - ($60 Program I keep buying) from Cyber-link and sure enough right off the bat my blue ray movies are NOT recognized ,.. Says it is an unsupported format..
Funny thing is the 30 day Free trial worked each and every time I stuck a blue ray movie into my blue ray drive .,,it read and opened the BD Disc .. The 30 day free trial work flawlessly for me.. So I took the plunge forked over $66 CDN for the standard Powerdvd14 software .. installed the downloaded software and the regular dvd's work fine but the blue ray discs .. states as my attachment shows Unsupported Format.. ? yet that same format same disc same computer same Poweredvd 14 ( 30 day free trial worked fine ..
I have shut off My agv virus . .still get same message .. My Video drivers are the very latest ...
It's too bad I can't just purchase the same 30 day free trial software.. instead ..
Oh well Back to my trusty Poweredvd 10 that does play back my Blue Ray movies ....... But will wait for a few days before I do so ( (.. Hopefully I can get my refund in full for the software I just bought 20 hours ago ... )

If I bought 12 ... 4 months ago and 13 is now available ....is it a N/C download ..??
|

bought poweredvd12 last december 2012.. can I upgrade to 13??

I'm back to nine again .. But you know I thoroughly enjoyed my free bundled powerdvd6 that i enjoyed for years and years ... BUT then I bought a bluray dvdrom player which meant I had to put out the big bucks for powerdvd12 to enjoy discs on my PC ,,.. but am right now stuck with 9 when I could have kept 6 and not bought 12 for $60 ..
hopefully support will get back to me and fix this problem..
so I can enjoy powerdvd12 ..

OK .. got the CC cleaner and did a through clean on my windows XP pro .. then I did a registry optimize and it found 17 errors .. I then optimized my PC rebooted and checked for all regular PC activities to be working .. Cyberlink is now totally gone .. Installed PowerDVD9 and this time it installed differently it seemed to get more hold of my PC .. .so far so good then I added the update for powerdvd9 and got that installed .. then I checked the program for playback on my regular std dvd's and avi produced dvd's so far so good all is well.. Did a system backup .. then rebooted again and now I am ready for the dvd12 to install.,, it then asks me Do I want to save the pdvd9 settings? .. If I say it NO it goes back to square one nothing happens .. If I say Yes the program for pdvdv12 that I was given to unzip installs and then informs me that it aborted the install because it needs 9 to ride on . I then check my desktop and 9 is gone removed .. so I have to install 9 again.. ( even tried system restore but it is still gone .. The icon is there but nothing happens when I click on it I then install 9 again and for the install of 12 am asked do I want to keep settings and I say No it doesn't give me the install for 12 ..

Did you use the Cyberlink Uninstall or Revo to uninstall your program as suggested above?
where do I find CLCleaner-product _version.exe stated in their help .. says how to use but no link anywhere
|
|
did a registry clean ../ now i can't find the update support sent me it has vanished I guess when they send you a fix and you can only use it once ..
|
|
Add remove control panel
|
|
I've removed all cyberlink got a reply back from support installed dvd9 . then updated to dvd12 as they suggested with their links ,, but just at the last second of install I am getting a run time error .. so I guess I have to set up my registry this weekend with maintenance work ..

been two days since I asked support for help and now it s almost the weekend ...... does support not have a phone number ??

I bought and paid for the Poweredvd12 in Dec 2012 .. Had to uninstall it today I have the 'key' to reinstall but unfortunately the web site for Cyberlink powerdvd12 is only designed for buy and trial only no reinstall..
sent off a support ticket have to wait 48 hours for answer back but in the mean time since I can't go more than few hours with a program to run my dvd's I thought I would install the trial version under another email address and it informs me that my 30 day trial is up .. Huh since when I never had it to start with unless you count the bought program back in December ..
Ideas ??

I too bought powerdvd12 back in late dec 2012 three months ago and have had a lot of problems in loading up my blurays.. std discs are fine but the blue rays take either too long and I abort or it comes up right away .. many times it is too long today it never came up at all so I uninstalled to reinstall I have the key but where oh where to insert after my reinstall I was expecting it to ask for the key but it is only asking for my credit card .....

Yes .. I ordered one yesterday .. It doesn't have HDMI only DVI-D & VGA connectivity
DVI-D (with HDCP) and VGA inputs for easy connectivity .. Hopefully that will work ..
I did pick up a DVI adapter and was able to see on the screen the menu items from a blue ray (jpg) but no play option .... so I knew I was close .. I also installed a Udf reader ( http://www.videohelp.com/tools/UDF-Reader) and that enabled me to read a blueray disc ID ..
so a new 20" monitor from HP is on the way ... ( The monitor , the new combo dvd rom ,. powerdvd12, and the dvi adapter has set me back almost $275 .... ) .

I bought and installed on my Desktop PC the LG bluray combo player[/a] .. ( I think it even plays back HDD too) .. I do not need to- or care to-- burn any Blue ray .,, I just want to have this $70 DVD rom player installed so it can ''see and play back'' Blue Ray dvd's .. It works fine with regular DVD's So I know it is hooked up fine .. It can even see the name ( in text) of the inserted Blue Ray Disc ... BUT No disc ID .... as most of my screen view shows the drive as 'ghosted out' ..
Came with Power dvd10 so figured maybe I should update to Powerdvd12 ( another $50) .. and I still have the same problem no reading of inserted BD disc ..
Ran the program called Cyberlink BD advisor and with some screen grabs says it Failed on two areas: ( the Graphics Card I have is ATI Radeon HD 5450 ) / graphic card driver -8.982.0.0 is one and the other says I have an analog connection.. ? My digital flat screen Acer monitor has the standard 9 pin connector from video card to staright wired in back of monitor .. I don't have or use HDMI like I do in the living room ...
Why can’t PowerDVD output Blu-ray Disc movies on displays using analog connections anymore?
Subject to the Analog Sunset rule, from January 2011, all Blu-ray Disc players made and sold are not allowed to output high definition(HD) content via analog connections. In other words, if your display doesn't have digital, HDCP-complaint, DVI or HDMI connections, you may not be able to watch Blu-ray Disc movies in CyberLink PowerDVD.
Copies of CyberLink PowerDVD sold before January 2011 can still output HD Blu-ray content in analog mode, but some newly released Blu-ray Disc movies may not play back due to the Analog Sunset rule.
Is there anything I can do or do I just need a new monitor ????????????

Thanks Hal.. Found it ..
actually I'm not going to post this as I think the problem is my PC.. It must be a mis-file assocation ( registry) 'cross' somewhere.. I've tried all means of fix including the registry..
Looks like a format is the solution..
