I've reinstalled PD8 but, as I said, the problem is the same. I don't even know if the AEFF.Mgr.dll could solve the issue. Anyway, I can start again the project, it doesn't matter but it's always better to understand What could be wrong.

This is the first time I have such issue with PD.

With PD 5 and 6 or 8 everything was working pretty well.
Yes but I get the same problem. I've opened the file C:\Users\AppData.....\Roaming\Cyberlink\PowerDirector\8.0\AutoSave to check that file. It doesn't exist...
Hello,

I've made a search for PowerDirector 8 on the forum but I don't find it...

Last week I created a new project file and started to edit without problem almost every day.

Today, I can't open anymore that file. The path to open it, is the same of course as before.

Cyberlink says I should download the file "AEFF.Mgr.dll" and copy that file to C:\Program Files\Cyberlink\PowerDirector and replace the original file.

My question: where I get that "AEFF.Mgr.dll" file to be downloaded?

Thanks for your comments.

Thank you Carl!

Tomorrow I'll check the driver. I've already unsuccessfully unintalled / re-installed PD8.
Quote: VR is Variable Rate Video.

They come from various sources, all of my VR Disks are from a standalone Video Recorder.

VR edits the same as constant rate in PD8. All video will be burned to the same DVD format (.VOB files).

Thank you Carl!

Can I ask you one question again?

Is it possible to modify manually that VR format to MPEG-2?

I have to deal with some troubles with the burning process (PD8 version 3022)
Troubleshouting until now was useless.

Between 24% and 33% of the process, I get various messages like "File pack empty. Muxer cannot muxer" / " Insufficient memory"/ "Problems with sample rate"/"Runtime error"

I thought it was one anomaly with one of the audio track. I selected one by one those tracks and intiated the creating and burning process without any problems.

One or several video clips must be the cause. I saved on one file before burning directly to the disc so that I could see the burning process was always getting stuck at the same clip (VR format) I removed all the clips on VR. Same situation.

I can produce the movie without difficulties.

Thank you for your attention,

JL

Extracted from a directory, all the video clips are on MPEG-2. Why some of them added to the library are on VR video file format? Most of them keep their MPEG-2 format in the library.

Thank you for your attention.
I've already made a burning test with a smaller file (2Go) and directly to a folder. No differences. The burning process stay still at various time (between 21% and 36%)

Version downloaded online of my PD8 updated yesterday to 3022.

Most of the time, I get 2 different messages:

1°- The file pack is empty. Muxer cannot muxer.

2°- RUNTIME ERROR! Program: C:\ProgramFiles\Cyberlink\Power Director\PDR8.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unususal way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Last attempt: I want to suppress and reinstall PD8 but I've lost my activation key and I don't know how to retrieve it.

Thanks for your advices.
Hi!

I've completed the production process of a movie.

Profile setup of video / audio file

MPEG 2
Average bitrate 8150 Kbps
speed/quality indicator: 7
audio compression rate: 352 Kbps
Subtitles inserted to the DVD
3 chapters
55 minutes

Memory space requested: 3850MB after disc creation on DVD (4.7GB rewritable)

At the last step of the creating process, the software can't burn.

The authoring process was performed correctly.

Only 2 messages: "Not enough memory space available to execute that operation" or "Disc incompatible"

With 2 olders versions of Power Director (V5 and V6), I can burn.

What could be the problem with V8?

Thank you for you attention.

JL
