I like how the senior people say blame the vendor. If a vendor is selling a product and want to include my product but dont want to pay full price, how many would mutilate it knowing it is going out with YOUR name on it and knowing customers will come to YOU to fix it and it is YOUR name that will be tarnished, not the vendors? And you feel the customer shouldn't feel cheated because he should automatically know that he could get garbage instead of the quality full featured product he got bundled in the past. And we're talking about powerdvd 8 which is old and allows the customer to upgrade to Powerdvd 10 with all the bells and whistles if he wants to purchase it. Way to support money grubbing over customer commitment. How bout next time, you just tell the vendor no because unsatisfied customers will cost more in the long run.

PS I found my PowerDVD ver 5.0 disc that came bundled with a DVD drive AND does everything i want it to!!! I no longer care about PowerDVD 8.0 or any other version and wont have to spend another dollar on cyberlink!!!!

PPS I'm never going to this site again so don't bother replyin.
I was told by support that it will not play Dolby Digital sound as is. I have to buy a Dolby Digital pack to play any Dolby Digital DVDs. About every DVD in the last ten to twenty years IS Dolby Digital. Even my VHS were Dolby Digital. Previous versions of Powerdvd would play them but thanks to Cyberlink Penny Pinching, they have bundled nonfunctioning software into thousands of hardware items. Go anywhere else for media players but not this lame duck.
