Unable to upload videos to YouTube?

Users of PowerDirector versions 6, 7 and 8 and YouCam versions 1.0, 2.0 and 2.5 may experience problems uploading their videos to YouTube.

This is because YouTube had recently changed their server connections. In the meantime, we are working on patch update releases and will send out notifications once the update files are ready.

http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/support/cs/faq-content.do?id=7809

CyberLink have made available a temporary fix. PD users will be emailed by CyberLink in due course when a full patch update is available.

Installation instructions:
Ensure PD is closed.
1. Download the attached zip file
1-1. Extract the contents from the zip file YouTubeMgr.dll
2. Copy the file:YouTubeMgr.dll
3. Paste the file here: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\runtime\YouTube
The new YouTubeMgr.dll file replaces the previous one.
4. Open PD and continue editing.

The file provided here was created by R&D at CyberLink and is a temporary fix.

Does the fix work for you? Please let other members know.

I tried the fix, and it still doesn't work. It gets through the production, and it even appears to complete the uploading, generating a green check box, but a dialogue box pops up saying that the file could not be uploaded to YouTube.

I tried several things: rebooted, cleared all cookies & browsing history, created brand new video from scratch... very simple. Still get the same error, so I can't auto upload to youtube because of the password issue.

I noticed youtube has made some changes to their manual logon process that now requires a keyword to be entered along with a password if you choose to stay logged on between sessions. May not be related but seems pretty close to the time I started having youtube issues. Win8 64-bit Pro Retail

I know the person who's posted the information at the link above.

Reinstall PD to revert back.

Hi Steve,
You appear to have a "unique".
Email all your data please include: images, diagnostic and a summary of the issue. I'll pass this onto support for them to investigate and attempt to replicate.

Hi Steve,

I have to ask the following questions:

1. What build of PD8 are you using?
2. Have you checked your firewall settings to ensure PD8 has access/can communicate with the net?

Sorry if these are "dumb" looking questions...

I am referring this to R&D to try and replicate.

version 2220c

I tried with 2220c, then added the patch, didn't help.
Went back to 2220c without the youtube patch.

Thought maybe it was because I modified the default youtube profiles bitrates, but I changed them and tried different standard profiles with the same result.

In my opinion, I suspect what is happening is whoever changed the code is not waiting long enough for the youtube server to acknowledge the user account. It creates an error, incorrectly interpreted to a login or account failure.

People that have low latency internet connections are not seeing the problem... under ideal conditions the code actually works properly.

Increase the login timeout and we're good to go.

Just a thought.
