Have I lost my PD16 purchase?

I have just built a new PC, and was ready to install my current paid download version of PD16 ultra, but when I click on my past orders I see I purchased it in 2017 but there is no download link, just a contact customer support link.

I have messaged customer support, and waiting for a reply, but in the mean time im wondering if anyone on here knows if I would need to pay again for a fresh download? or will they let me have back what I paid for?

The FAQs have all the info. Once you get the link from CL, you should make sure you keep the downloaded installer in a safe place so you'll be able to install PD16 again next time without needing to wait for them to respond.

I searched my old emails and found my purchase email containing the download link and key, but when i clicked on it it said no longer valid and advised to contact customer service.

Right. As the FAQs (and I assume your purchase email) state, the download links are only valid for 30 days which is why I suggested saving the installer somewhere you could easily find it in case you ever need it again.

When I originally downloaded it in 2017 i simply clicked the link in the email to download and install it if i remember correctly. I wasnt aware that there was a file named "installer" would this still be on my old computer?

(This is a good reason why I prefer hard copies on physical media, not so easy to lose, i'm surprised they are being phased out such as dvd)

Yes unless you've deleted items in your Downloads folder on your older computer there should still be a large file called something like PowerDirector_1931_Ultra_VDE141105-06.exe (although that one is for PD14).

That's the file that would have been downloaded when you clicked on the email link and that's the program that installed PD16 on your older system. You may have also received links for various content packs with installer names like PowerDirector_ContentPack_Premium_PCP170517-02.exe
