Answers I cannot get from Cyberlink support

I have been through several frustrating attempts to get answers from support but they have not been forthcoming regarding Director Suite 365.

1) what happens when there is no internet and 365 is attempting to confirm the subscription. Does this mean I cannot use the programs? Does this mean they will allow usage and try to confirm subscription later? What exactly does happen at that moment?

2) I had problems with previous installment of PD365 (v1 which was solved with the new update. Apparently one of the New Blue packages was corrupted and I sent a screen shot showing the problem. I also sent them a list of the NewBlue packages that I did have and asked if I am missing any. Their reply was they could not tell me that information. (Top secret I guess). Anyway, like I said when installing PD19 (365) the missing New Blue package reappeared and the error message I received when loading a project dissappeared. So my question now, which support couldn't answer: I wanted to re-download my PD18 (365) while I was having this problem. How does one re-download a part of the suite when that option is not available in CAM? I suspect it means uninstalling the particular part of the suite (in this case PowerDirector365) and hoping restarting CAM would show download again as opposed to launch. (I just did not want to take that chance). (Their reply was to login to my account online and search for a non-existant tab to redownload).
Thanks... Barry

1) I'm not sure what will happen if you're not connected to the internet for the initial authorization. That would be pretty odd, since you would presumably just used the App Manager to download and install PD, but since the actual authorization happens the first time you launch PD, it's possible that you'd not be online at that point.

In my case, I've seen an activation warning message appear the first time I've launched PD after installing it because I'd already had the maximum allowed number of installations (due to system crashes and rebuilds). I was allowed to activate PD on the current PC while Cyberlink presumably deactivated the license on a discarded system.

I know that in general use, PD will only check for a valid license about once a month, and I believe that you'll get some kind of warning message limiting functionality if it's been another month since PD was able to check.

2) It's not top secret, it's just that there are so many combinations of different NewBlue packages that there's no quick way for them to tell you how many you're missing. In fact, PDM just posted a list of what all the various versions of PD contain in the latest FAQs, which seems tailor-made for your question so you'll be able to figure it out based on which older versions you'd previously had installed.

Also, the way to get missing content reinstalled is to first uninstall the main app (which can be done by right-clicking on PD in the App Manager or from the main Windows uninstall tool), and also check the Windows uninstall tool for any items from Boris FX, Adorage or NewBlueFX.

If you had previously installed older versions of PD, many of your NewBlue packs may have been installed then and may not be included in the new version, so you may need to reinstall some or all your older versions to get every NewBlue pack back.

Interestingly, all of the bundled holiday, romance, travel, etc. packs are available in the App Manager so you'll always be able to add them.

It sounds like there might be some confusion here. It sounds like you were looking to use the App Manager to redownload PD, and they may have thought you wanted to download the App Manager again.

If PD is uninstalled, it will show Download (or Update) instead of Launch. If you need to download the latest version of the App Manager, it's available when signed in to your CL account on this page.

Thanks Optodata,

You are right, I was interested in reinstalling PD18 (365) in hopes of getting the missing NewBlue app back. (I was using it in a project) Installing the PD19 (365) reinstalled all the NewBlue's.

You confirmed my guess that uninstalling the app (PD in this case) would bring back the install icon (box) in CAM, but not being sure I did not want to take the chance.

You also answered my question regarding what would happen if by some chance the internet was down while Cyberlink was verifying. (Not the initial authorization). It appears, based on what you said, that one time may not be a problem if verification is happening during an internet down period, as it will try to verify on a later date.

Thanks again,
Barry
