1. without a video clip in the main timeline, voice recording simply doesn't work: so, just recording voiceovers from a script for later insertion into a project really isn't practicable.
2. recording loses the first second of voice in the resulting audio file: as tho the recorder is voice activated and takes that long to get recording going.
3. the recorded voice files have no meaningful identity to relate them to a project or even a date of recording, just a sequential number in the same folder that all projects use.
All of these observed when recording with other tracks muted. Frankly, this should be the default setting: a recording is going to be added to a video clip anyway - when that happens an audio collision between the video and voice clips in a project isn't desirable.
Feedback
Make recording with other tracks muted the default setting
item 1 can be lived with - but it's a convenience other editors have that is very useful.
item 3 is a future issue: apart from playing the files to determine - if you can remember - just which project they go with, there isn't an obvious way establish a project relationship. Adding a project name or at least a date/time to the name of a recorded file would be a great assist.
Problem requiring resolution
item 2 is a real pest and despite testing a number of ways I haven't been able to figure out how to get the whole spoken voice properly recorded.
Is there asolution to item 2?? if so what is it?
