Problem Navigating Music Track Lists

I see this problem reading straight from CDs, or from tracks ripped into folders, or playlists:

In version 17 and (as I recall) earlier, the program would present the track list, and while the music played one would retain immediate access to the list, for all purposes. Now I'm seeing something very different. Clicking on a track leads to a new screen replacing the list screen, the new one containing only information about the single track. For anything else one must return to the previous screen, but--second surprise--that on the instant cuts off the playing of the track. That new screen holds hostage the entire program.

Unless, of course, in the upgrading I've simply missed a checkbox that will reset this business. I looked everywhere, but found nothing. Did I overlook it?

Hello,

See this post for more detail: https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/76093.page

It's just the new design of PowerDVD 18. Some people like seeing album art instead of a text list of songs I would think. Matter of opinion I guess.

Just use the skip buttons to find the song you want to play.

The critical issues mentioned above are that: 1) less information is now provided; 2) the single track screen, in my experience, appears to close off the rest of the program, such that attempting to reach another screen immediately turns off the playing track. I seriously doubt that anyone would advocate either.

Point #2 particularly galls me, because it seems to contradict this reference in the manual, from p. 42, informing us that "when you play music in CyberLink PowerDVD, it continues to play if you view photos and play slideshows, and browse through media on the other tabs." Either I'm misinterpreting this, or I'm dealing with a bug, because _everytime_ I leave that single track screen (in order, perhaps, to do all those other fun things) the music stops right then.

Hello,

The functions you want to do are still there when browsing music in the music tab. As I said in my last post, playlist feature was updated in PowerDVD 18 to just show album art.

Sounds like you just want to browse and play music from the music tab. All that you mentioned above is still there doing it that way. The help content you pulled is describing playing music the music tab, not playlists playback. So it is correct.

If you don't like it, email customer service and ask them to change it back.

I personally like the album art in a playlist...playlists are meant to be played. But again, that is just some peopl's opinion.

As I said above, it is NOT an "issue". The UI behaviour was changed. If you don't like it, contact CyberLink customer service and tell them so they will change it in the next version. It won't be changed in this version.

I'll be asking for a refund then, cause it is an issue for me. You can't tell me what's an issue and what's not. I'll be using PowerDVD 17 instead.

I have got an answer from customer service that solved my problem somewhat. If you play music under the media library you can still browse in your music while playing music. Although list view is not shown it's folder view there, still you can browse.

I have the same issue and yes it is major issue for me! PDVD17 had it right, this new version is useless. So much so I've been using VLC to play music since PDVD18 just shows me a useless grey play button/music icon in the middle of my screen. Seriously, who thinks this is somehow useful info over the folder/track list view we used to have? How many songs are in this folder.... I don't know, all I can see is a stupid grey music button in the middle of my screen. What number was the next song I wanted to listen to.... I don't know, all I can see is a stupid grey music button in the middle of my screen.

Yes, it's a major issue for music lovers!
