Almost immediately upon applying any transition, the video playback on the timeline significantly slows. I can hear the audio on the video proceeding normally but the timeline on the video is lagging signicantly behind, making it very difficult to continue to not only add all the transitions required but other titles, etc. yet to come.
This is the 3rd project I've done on PowerDirector 15 on this computer and I have never experienced this type of problem applying transitions or anything else (Titles, etc.). It has an I7 processor and there appears to be plenty of memory available (system specs below):
Operating System: Windows Home 64 Bit (10.0 Build 16299)
System Model: K501UW - asus
Bios: K501UW.203
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50 GHz (4 cpu's), 2.6 GHz
Memory: 16384 MB RAM
Page File: 2973 MB used, 15706 MB available
Direct X version: Directx 12
In Direct X under render, it has the following:
Chip Type: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
DAC type: Intergrated RAMDAC
Device Type: Render Only display device
Approxite Total Memory: 12188 MB
Display Memory (VRAM): 4064 MB
Shared Memory: 8124 MB
Driver Model: WDDM 2.1
Version: 21.21.13.6909
The previous projects I've completed are on this computer and still render at normal speeds on the timeline when I open and view them. I am perplexed as to why my new project is slowing like this with just the application of transitions. I updated the latest patches to PD 15 and have tried everything from turning off the Hardware Acceleration in settings to clicking HD shadow files without any changes. The problem persists regardless of what I've tried.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be? I am very frustrated and discouraged that this is happening given the signficant time I've already spent editing video for this project. Any help is greatly appreciated.
