Same here. I have been using Powerdvd for years and never had any issues with PDVD8 and Vista. I installed the trial version of PDVD9 to give it a try and when I load an .avi(xvid\mp4) file I get sound and no video. Also what is odd is when I click on information PDVD9 shows the video stream as mpeg2, go figure.

PS* If the thread that was removed was a fix then "Why was it removed", surely solutions to issues is exactly what this forum is all about.

BTW guys the file to edit is cldshowX.ini and while it does work surely this could have other ramifications that are unknown. I think the guys from Cyberlink should clarify this. I know I'll not be upgrading to ver 9 untill I have a better fix/explaination.

I bought PowerDVD (9.0 1501.0)after reading about the excellent Video production of the product.
I am very disappointed to see,(or better not to see,) that when I start a DivX/AVI file I only get (excellent!) audio but no video at all.
I have Divx7 PRO installed(with included the PRO DivX Codec).
The CPU= INTEL Core2 Quad CPU Q9400@2.66Ghz.
Memory= 3Gb.
VideoControler= Nvidia 9800GT with 1GB onboard.
What do I do wrong?

Greetings,
Wim

Hello Ali,
Do you know where the promissed patch/update can be downloaded?
I see only corrections for version 8 of PowerDVD, for both normal and ultra versions, but.... for PowerDVD9 Ultra I don't see anything.
Or... do I look in the wrong place?
Have a nice day and greetings,
Wim

MY issue is after doing the reboot and reinstall of DVD9 my dvd bourne supremacy wont play. Nor will any other movie other than Dvix format. Divx movies play just fine, but DVD or VOB files will not. Tried to make n adjustment in the configuration menu and the system crashes telling me to report the problem to Microsoft. Don't know what to do. I am using Microsoft XP media center addition.

I tried this patch, (new version) but..... same kind of problems as before.
The Version9 Ultra should work with all kind of HD content, but fi the DivX7 ultra version is not supported.
A .mkv (Matroska container, very often used for H.264_MP4 and DivX_HD) is not even recognised as a valid filetype.
(I tried oa NERO Show Time and it was playing this type of files without any problem!)
By the way the patch on the US-site was of 03.03.2009 so before the problems occurred on my computer!

No the patch doesn't fix anything. HDMI audio is still messed up and the looping video still occurs.

We probably fell for an Aprils joke - the patch was released on April 1st! However, I don't find this funny at all...

Regards!
