PD 14 new menu background music won't play over about 30 seconds

Hi

I changed my menu background music file to one that is 1 minute 44 seconds. In preview only about 30 seconds play before repeating. I took a downloaded template and changed to image and now want different music. When I select Menu Background Music button and after I select file from my HD, displayed is the 1.44 duration. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help someone can provide...

While on Create Disc Tab...

At the bottom there's "Playback mode", to the right is a box describing what's selected. To the right of that is a button "Set you disc's playback mode". Click on that.

At the bottom of the next window there's Duration. You can get a max of 99 seconds. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

Hi

I only see 4 play title options no "Duration". Only OK and CANCEL buttons.

Really? I wonder if there's something funky about the templat you downloaded.

Can you share the link so I can try? I wonder if the duration goes away if you use a background IMAGE and not a VIDEO. I've never used a BG Image.

For that to appear, on the menu tab, Root Menu must be checked. If Root menu is not checked that option does not exist.

Hi obx02 -

You've run into a restriction in PDR's menu system. It's annoyed people for a very long time.

The way to overcome it (and allow your background music to play through) is to create a menu with a video background, even if it's justy a video produced from a still image.

Explained here - http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/43900.page#226987

Without that workaround, the Titles/Chapters page will be restricted to repeating itself after about 15 seconds.

In your case, make the background video 00:01:44:00 in duration.

Cheers - Tony

Sorry but I'm a little lost. When I insert image for background where do I set the duration?

Thanks...

I forgot to check the 'include root menu' box. I then set duration from 19 to 82 (length of audio). When I preview the audio plays long on root screen but short (maybe the 19 seconds) on the scenes screen. Did I miss something else?

Thanks..

I was hoping to create a menu with no root. DVD is of Grandson's baseball game. Each scene is video of each half inning he is in (batting or in the field). Be nice when DVD loads in player he can select which 1/2 inning to watch. In need root, no problem it's just one more click. But would like the menu song, "Take me Out To The Ball Game" would play until he selects.

Thanks...

Maybe not. The preview does funny things for me too. I suggest making and iso file. I use VirtualCloneDrive (VCD) to simulate a removable disc. If you install the VCD, you will find right-click options on iso files allowing you to mount the disc. Then you will really see what the final disc will look like. I burned a test iso file and downloaded and installed a free VCD. I right-clicked the iso and selected 'Open with VCD' and nothing happened. I also tried on the right-click the 'Mount VCD' option. Again nothing happened. Am I missing something? I'm running Win 10.

Thanks

Just so I'm clear. The last post from ynotfish provided link http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/43900.page#226987 . It describes how to get a time duration for the Titles/Chapters page. Which I believe is the Scenes. There describes duration as 00:01::30:00 . It's that duration format screen I can not locate. I'm not confident I'm following that 1 thru 9 step procedure correctly. The one I changed was 2 digit - 99 seconds. Maybe it's all the same. I'm confused.

Thanks for help from all.....

Yeah, I forgot to tell you to then find the new "drive" in your drive list. Mine is labeled BD-Rom Drive (K:). Right-click on the mounted drive and click Play

Those steps are for making a single image, into a video. Step 3 is telling you to insert an image onto the PD timeline. You then click the Duration button and set the time as in the example 1:30:00 (m:ss:ff) m=minute, s=second, f=frame CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

Got VCD to play the iso file. Menu music plays all in root but short duration then repeat in scenes.

Now going to work on putting image in timeline and create a menu with 1:30:00 duration. Will report results.

Thanks again for your help...

I inserted - Image on timeline and produced with 1:30 duration - as background in a menu. I then replaced the music setting duration to 1:30 . Works GREAT!!! Able to create output with scenes and no root. Just what I wanted.

One more question please - my current project is creating DVD of Grandson's baseball game...only 1/2 innings he's in.
For each 1/2 inning (say top of 1st) I put those video files on the timeline and group them together. Then I produce this to a .m2ts file. In Create Disc I import all the .m2ts files (1/2 innings) and burn. The result is each Title will play a 1/2 inning.

I tried putting all video files in timeline and setting/grouping filles as chapters (1/2 inning). Found in Create Disc only 1 Title appeared to play. My way works but is there and easier/quicker way to get results I want?

Thanks.... You Guys Have Been Great!!
