PD 14 new menu background music won't play over about 30 seconds

I inserted - Image on timeline and produced with 1:30 duration - as background in a menu. I then replaced the music setting duration to 1:30 . Works GREAT!!! Able to create output with scenes and no root. Just what I wanted.

One more question please - my current project is creating DVD of Grandson's baseball game...only 1/2 innings he's in.
For each 1/2 inning (say top of 1st) I put those video files on the timeline and group them together. Then I produce this to a .m2ts file. In Create Disc I import all the .m2ts files (1/2 innings) and burn. The result is each Title will play a 1/2 inning.

I tried putting all video files in timeline and setting/grouping filles as chapters (1/2 inning). Found in Create Disc only 1 Title appeared to play. My way works but is there and easier/quicker way to get results I want?

Thanks.... You Guys Have Been Great!!

This sounds like you would get one file with all the 1/2 innings.

So you're not producing into one file.

I believe so.

In create a disc... when you have multiple videos, those are the titles. Each title can have chapters.

Sounds like you want one title with chapters. Go back to the first step. Put the videos in the timeline (removing parts your grandson is not in). No need to produce at this point.

Go ahead and set chapters using the Chapter Room.

Then... go to Create Disc. You should have one title and many chapters. Is this what you want? CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

I did it like you say - 1 title with many chapters. When I add the menu there is only 1 title to click. It plays all the chapters...the game. I would like a title for each 1/2 inning in the Scenes menu. Then could play only what you want. I guess I'm looking to not have to produce each 1/2 inning (title). I can live with all the producing if necessary.

Clear as mud right?

Thanks...

Hi obx02 -

Yes - if you want to be able to watch each innings then return to the menu, you need to import separately produced titles...

AND

Check "Play the selected title only" in Playback Options. A bit like the attached image.

It'll work like the menu shown here - https://youtu.be/16a5-8K2WT8?t=7m21s (cued) In fact toot shows how to put such a menu together, though it doesn't answer your original question.

Cheers - Tony

Sorry, I misunderstood. Yeah, you'll have to produce each 1/2 inning. With repetition comes speed! CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

Thanks for all the help. I'm now going to try producing team introduction video into a menu background instead of still image. Should b cool to watch before one clicks the 1/2 inning. Liking PD14 more and more.

No need to produce if you don't want to. PD14 offers ability to import basic pds file which defines each title in "Create Disc > Content" module.

This is GREAT! Saves a ton for time. Can I assume I can burn to Blu-Ray after going through '2D Disc' without producing?

Thanks a lot..

Yes! Producing a video file and burning a disc are two different entities. When you burn a disc, the process includes "producing the video on the disc" CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

Alright!! Now I'm a little stuck in my menu video background creating. I took the .mts video of player introductions and trimmed it down to just what I want to play. I produced it to .m2ts . In Create Disc > Menu Preferences I selected a menu and via modify I set background video with my new .m2ts . Preview show video but play default audio. Is there a way to create my new menu with the video's audio?.

Thanks...

Not as far as I know! The "video background" only includes the video component. You'd need to add the audio separately... which, in your case (I guess) be a combination of the video's audio + "Take Me Out to the Ball Game".

I'll give that a test here.

Yes. re-open the video pds file and re-produce as audio.

When making visual and auditory menus, you need two files. Video and audio. CyberPowerPC | Win7HP-64 | AMD FX-8320 3.5 Ghz | 8GB Mem | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB | WEI 5.9

At the moment I'm creating DVDs of Granddaughter's HS soccer games. I would like to create a menu background of their player introductions .. video and it's audio. Same would apply to Grandson's baseball games.

I think ynotfish is trying to combine video and audio into a menu template.

Well, he is correct here

EDIT: Just in case there's confusion... The video and audio are added separately in the Menu Designer.

It works. The key for me was to produce the player intro video as audio and add it after applying the template. What's misleading is when you click a menu template you hear the video's audio.

Thanks..

Sadly, each time I've attempted to add a video background that includes audio, PDR decides it doesn't want to play! (PDR has stopped working) BUT I'm fairly certain that is the case. Joseph is right - two files - audio & video.

obx02 - You were on a roll! You were close to getting something that worked for you. Personally, I'd stick with what you had & not try to complicate the issue.

As a separate suggestion, you could add the "Team Introduction" video as a First Play Video. That means it will play automatically - with audio - before the menu is displayed. After that the menu will function as you wish.

Cheers - Tony

P.S. It took so many attempts to post that you guys have sorted it out anyway!
