Yep, fix as mentioned. They got me to obtain a couple of dll files via FTP to replace the ones I had to delete. (Mediaobj.dll & mediaobjExt.dll) Files sizes were the same so not sure what the difference was, but it worked.
Apologies Tony, for those out there with this issue I would mention these dll files to Cyberlink as a clue to fixing the problem. They may obviously require more diag info but would be a more than good starting point!

I wish they would post the fix with instructions...so we can all benefit from it! Obviously there is something we can all try....

I agree... I hope there's a patch that will fix the issue. I am about 4 productions behind at the moment and wish I'd not installed PD13 before at least finishing the one I am currently working.

Is anyone experiencing a black display screen when inserting some of the offending image files? I have that issue with both .jpg files and .mp4 files.

Apparently there is a beta patch to correct problems encountered with some images. I was given a link to the beta patch that can't be found. I am hoping for a good link to that patch.

A good link for the patch secured, the patch did not work. I still can't manage some of the squashed images, black no-display (including images and video) with the new patch installed.

This problem seems to be related to the images and video captured with my Lg g2 smart phone. It's just odd.

FYI - I had the same problem and support provided a link to the patch which didn't work originally but then I renamed the images and re-imported them with no issues. Wondering if the images get cached in PowerDirector...

I loaded the beta patch as tech support suggested and deleted the cache registry entries as they also suggested. When I re-imported the offending files I had the same problem with the same images and videos. I gave up on importing those files and finished my video so that I could start another.

Keep in mind here that I started the aforementioned video in PD12, but then upgraded to PD13 mid-stream. It was then that I had the image and video problems.

I started a brand new session in PD13, loading other images and videos. Out of curiosity I decided to see if the previously offending video and image files would load normally into the new session ... et VOILA... they worked just fine.

So, the problem must have had something to do with starting in PD12 and trying to finish in PD13.

Yes they do, and you're right to consider that as a possible part of the cause. Sometimes deleting files at C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\MediaCache can help resolve such issues. Also C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\13.0\photoTmp & C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\13.0\WaveForms

Allmoto - glad to see you've worked through the thing & that CL has provided some of the necessary fixes.

There is clearly a need for information to be shared when a number of users are experiencing similar issues. Thank you for doing so.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Guys...

I downloaded the 2229 beta patch and installed. Fixed my issue. If you haven't tried it...I recommend it.
